Cute Card Thursday #162

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

My card today is for this week's Cute Card Thursday. The challenge is a Sketch with a bit of a twist... you have the option of using any current sketch from another challenge, an old Cute Card Thursday sketch.. or design one of your own!

I've gone for the 'design your own' option and drafted up this sketch...(feel free to take it if you want to).

I have also finally inked up my Romantic Window stamp. It was one of those 'must have' purchases that has been sitting in its packaging for months - so BAD! I have masked it with Leaning Tilda and some topiary plants (all Magnolia).

The cute papers are all Magnolia as well from the new Mini papers collection. I just love the smaller size patterns. The inside of the card is also decorated and stamped with another plant for a bit of colour.

Please take the time to go and check out what my Cute Card Thursday teamies have created for you this week and we would LOVE for you to come and join in the fun and the sponsor this week is Kraftin Kimmie stamps - isn't that enough reason to play along?

I am entering my card into these challenges..
7 Kids College Fund - Showers or Flowers
Fussy & Fancy - Springtime
Totally Gorjuss - Bling it on
Cupcake Inspirations - Photo inspiration

Thanks for checking out my card today. I can't wait to see what you create for us this week.
Have a great day,

Whiff of Joy Challenge #103 - Jane's sketch

Gosh, is it Wednesday already? WOW.  These short weeks really do fly by. It is also getting quite cold and grey here in Canberra already. Its going to be a loooong cold winter!

Today it is time for the next Whiff of Joy challenge. This week we have a great sketch to play with, thanks to gorgeous Jane.

I decided to make a tag card for a change. I've used the adorable Musing Melinda and General Sayings sentiment set.

The papers are Prima Annalee, hehe. I've also used a book page form Little Women and various ribbons and laces.

We'd love for you to come and play along this fortnight, my teamies have put together some amazing work to inspire you.

I would love to enter this card into these challenges:
Everybody Art Challenge - Fairies
Simon Says Stamp and Show - some buttons
Stamp somthing - Flowers, buttons and Sparkle

Thanks for stopping by for a visit :) I'll be back tomorrow with a card for Cute Card Thrusday to share with you.

Please - be kind :)

Hahaha - yes, a plea for kindness :) After a little bit of reassurance from my watercolouring friends, I've decided to share a card I made over the weekend where I watercoloured the image - OMG - yes - watercoloured!

Most of you know that I am a Copic girl, through and through! I've never been very good at watercolouring, it requires patience :) But sometimes I just want to paint, so on the weekend, that is what I did. I actually painted two images.  This one is Shopping Tilda from the Bon Voyage collection.

Tilda's skin looks a little olive as I painted in Vintage Photo... I only have four DI's so made do with some Stampin Up inks I had in my drawer. I need to get a few more colours of DIs if I want to paint more.  The papers are Prima Annalee (yup, again!).

So yes, something a little different from me today! I'm feeling brave so wanted to share :)

Now... for some challenges...
The ABC Challenge - Sparkle
Totally Gorjuss - Bling it on
Stamptacular Sunday - Pile it on
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Flowers
The Crazy Challenge - 3 different papers

If I get a card done with the other image I've painted  might show you. Its nice to try something a bit different for a change.

Thanks for checking in with me today! I'll be back tomorrow with my Whiff of Joy Challenges DT card to share with you.

Hugs Kylie xx

Tickled Pink Stamps sponsors Sketchy Colours

Good morning! I meant to do this post last night but got a bit sidetracked :S Sorry!

Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Sketchy Colours this month and this week the challenge is a colour challenge - blue, beige and white. I have inked up the gorgeous 1930's Evie from the Fashionette collection for the occassion. I love the vintage colour combo so I thought that a vintage style stamp would suit. Isn't she lovely?  I dug out a Stamp-It stamp I had in my drawer to stamp in the background. It is called "Time in Paris" and is stamped in DI - Old Paper.

I had a label shape that I had cut on the cricut for something else but I misaligned the paper so the edge was flat so I thought I couldn't use it.. but it turns out, it is perfect to stand the card up. I cut the matts to match and distressed the edges. I am really enjoying this vintage/shabby style at the moment. So much so that I attempted watercolouring on the weekend... Oh my... Hats off to all of you watercolourers out there - OMG it takes forever! Copics are so much faster. but watercolouring is really relaxing. If I am feeling brave I'll show you in the next few days how it turned out :)

Evie is coloured in Copics. Her outfit was coloured in B 01, 00, 000, 0000, but it was too bright, so I went over it with E 41 (shaddow areas) and E 0000 (lighter areas) to tone it down a little. The gorgeous papers are Websters minis and I made a little cream lace flower (just under the pale blue rose).

The Sketchy Colours Challenge runs until Saturday so please head over and check it out!  The DT is just amazing and features ex Pink Lady Maya and my MDUC Teamie Anne - both wonderfully talented and also gorgeous people as well.

Some challenges for this card are:
Trule Scrumptious - Vintage
Paper Sundaes - Sundae Bar (Sparkle, Die cuts and Pearls)

I also just want to finish up this post today to remember that it is ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand today. For those in the Northern Hemisphere wondering what that is.. (From Wikipedia):  Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, and is commemorated by both countries on 25 April every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. It now more broadly commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for their countries.

It is a special day, one that I remember as a child attending ANZAC Day marches at the War Memorial to celebrate those brave men and women who served in the so that we could live in peace today.

Lest We Forget.

Tilda in Rubber boots

Happy Easter!! I hope the Easter Bunny was good to everyone ;)

I don't have an Easter card to share with you today... oh no... I have a birthday card for a nice change! But I did use two of the Butterfly Dreams stamps for my card :)  There is a new challenge over at Magnolia Down Under challenges today - and this week we have a sketch for you... AND... it is by me! It is the first time one of my sketches have been used for a challenge, so please be nice, hahaha, no, seriously, I would love to see what you do with it.

Yep... I am still on my masking bug. Only two stamps this time though. This is Tilda in Rubber boots masked with the Stonepath. The goreous papers are all Magnolia as well - they are the new mini papers! I just love them. The blue butterflys are so pretty and the two with the cream background and gold print actually look gold in the light, really lovely.

I would like to enter these challenges:
7 Kids College Fund - Easter or Spring
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Lets Celebrate
All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge - May Moments
Stamps + Fun = Creativity - Spring
Stampavie & More - Birthday
Stamp with Fun - Birthday

Windy Tilda in Paris

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are all enjoying a relaxing weekend with your families. It is nice and sunny here in Canberra, but it is getting chilly... it was only 1 degree this morning when we got up..brrrrrr!

I love this Eiffel Tower stamp from Magnolia. I dont'get to use it a lot however. Inking up Windy Tilda was a good opportunity to mask them together though.  These two stamps together bring back good memories from when my Hubby and I visited Paris in the autumn of 2006. We were always getting caught in showers and one night we even had to run back to the hotel from the restaurant in the middle of a big storm, haha, we looked a bit of a sight when we entered the hotel lobby dripping wet.

I've used Magnolia papers as well for my card. The red rose paper is actually from a christmas collection but I thought it looked ok for this card.
All of the panels have been machine stitched and I hand stitched some lace to form the flower behind the red rose.  Tilda and the Eiffel Tower are coloured in Copics. I've also decorated the inside of the card.
I would like to enter these challenges with Windy Tilda:
Totally Tilda - Tilda from around the world (France :) )
Totally Gorjuss - Bling it on
The Ribbon Girl - red, blue and white
Stamptacular Sunday - use a Magnolia stamp
Crafty Calendar - April Showers

So that is it from me today! I will be back tomorrow with something else to share. Thanks for visiting me this Easter long weekend!  Have a great day!

Lost for words...

Hi everyone! Happy "Good Thursday" as I like to call it!  Even though Easter is a little later this year, it still jumped up and surprised me. I raced down to the supermarket this morning to find half the suburb had already beat me to it :)

My project today is a bit of a special one. It is my first DT project for Cute Card Thursday! I was so surprised when Deb emailed me to see if I wanted to be a part of their team, but as much as I wanted to jump  up and down and say yes I had to have a bit of a think to see if I could devote the time to the Team. Recently I had left two DT's very special to me due to workload, so making a decision to join another was a bit tough :)  I am thrilled to be a part of the Cute Card Thursday family however, so it is definitely the right decision.

The challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is.... No Text!! ohhh... I can see you all thinking easy peasy can't I? hahaha - well, I am sentimentally challenged - I don't use them if I can get away with it ;) So I thought it was going to be simple... but I tell you... the temptation to add a tag with a cute little sentiment to my project was very strong! Restist the urge! It is worth it! As the prize this week up for grabs is from Pink Cat Studio - nice hey?

My project is a little bag. It has adorable Tilda on the front masked with the Tulip Walkway. I first one of these cute little bags at Rimna's Skafferi and I had to have a go myself. There is a tutorial, it can be found here with a really nice vintage example.

And when opened up this is the inside of the bag... The puppy is "Magnolia", obviously, by Magnolia Stamps, lol, who happens to be a real dog (Caviller King Charles Spaniel I think). I've coloured her to look like my dog, Tara who passed away last year :(

I love that she is standing in the garden with a butterfly. I have a photo of my Tara standing in my parents garden when she was a puppy. So this stamp was one of those "had to haves".

The papers are MME Good Day Sunshine. All images are coloured with Copics.

If you would like details of the Magnolia stamps and dies used on my bag, please check out my Magnolia blog HERE.

Well, thanks so much for visiting me today! And sorry for the long post :)
Happy Easter to you all,
Hugs Kylie xx

Tilda with lace jeans sets the scene

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hope everyone had wonderful relaxing weekend.
I spent the weekend playing with this step card. I've had several attempts at these cards and I never finish them for some reason. I've had these gorgeous Magnolia mini papers sitting on my desk awaiting a bit of attention as well so it was time to do something about both :)

I've masked a scene with Tilda sitting on her little swing. There are five different stamps used for the scene, one of them being used twice. I've also used a Doo Hickey die and my MS Butterfly punch. The flowers are a mix of Petaloo and Wild Orchid Crafts.

The paper I've used to colour on is "Make it Colour". I took a little while to move across to this new paper as I was pretty devoted to my Xpress It, but now that I've coloured a few images, I just can't go back! I find the colours show much clearer and they don't bleed past the stamped image, unlike Xpress It.

I would like to enter these challenges with this card:
All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge - Marvellous Magnolia May Moments
Copic Creations - Use your favourite paper
Cupcake Crafts - Lots of Layers
Dutch Dare - Fancy Folds
Do You Stack Up - Scallops
Just Magnolia & H&S - Birthday!
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Stitching
Stamp with Fun - Birthday
Stamptacular Sunday - Magnolia-licious
Totally Papercrafts - Springtime
Truly Scrumptious - Vintage

If you would like further details of the Magnolia products used on my card, please visit my Magnolia blog.

Have a great day!

Tickled Pink Stamps sponsors Sketchy Colours

How is your Sunday going? Over here in Aus ours is nearing its end, but it has been a gorgeous sunny autumn day.

This month Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Sketchy Colours each Sunday and this week a few of us Pink Ladies have decided to play along with the terrific sketch.

I have used the adorable new Lil Pinkette Pippa for my card. I think she might be my favourite Pinkette.. for the moment ;)

My papers are all Prima Sparkling Spring - I LOVE this collection. I think I need to track down a few sheets of my favourite papers so I don't run out. I've used Nesties Large Circles, Scalloped Circles and Lacey Circles to matt little Pippa. The Pennant banner is a Whiff of Joy die, the lace over the top of it and the rolled roses are both MFT dies and the lacey paper flowers, white lace border and fancy edge on the bottom of the card are both Magnolia Doo Hickey dies. Yup, I am a little nuts over my dies at the moment :) I'm going to have to get some new Cuttlebug plates soon if I keep this up.

I've distressed the edges of my papers and matts and added some eyelets for the ribbon. The sketch was terrific to work with and I'll be using it again :)

I would also like to enter my card into these challenges....
By the Cute and the Girly - Cute and Girly
Fab n Funky - Spotty and dotty
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Layer it Up
Simon Says Stamp and Show - some Distressing
The ABC Challenge - Sugar and Spice

I hope you get a chance to play along with the Sketchy Colours challenge this week or next week even to be in with the chance to win some great prizes from Tickled Pink Stamps!

Enjoy the rest of your day! :)

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #92

Only one week to go until the Easter Bunny visits! So over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week our challenge comes as no surprise ;) Yup, we're lookin' for Easter themed creations!

I've been getting into shaped cards quite a bit recently so thought I'd make another egg shaped card.

I have had a bit of a play with my punch for the edge and some Doo Hickey dies. There is a paper doily hiding in behind the images as well. While rummaging around my drawer I came across a sheet of gold German Scrap corners, so decided to add one of those as well :)

The rolled flower is a MFT die. Everything is stitched and the images are coloured with Copics. The inside of the card is decorated to with the same gorgeous Prima "Annalee" papers and all of the edges have had a little visit from the edge distresser and some distress ink "Antique Linen".

The gorgeous girls over at MDUC have really created some amazing cards to share with you this week so please pop over and check out their work. If you would like details of the Magnolia stamps and dies used on my card, please pop over to my MAGNOLIA blog for the info.

I would love to enter this card into these challenges:

Thanks for visiting me and have a great weekend!

That is one HUGE butterfly!

Good morning everyone!

I started cleaning up my desk over the past few days... started anyway - such a huge mess and I keep getting sidetracked. I don't have a great deal of space, but I do have a great deal of 'stuff'. Over the past few weeks I had been colouring up cute little things here and there and they've not reached any cards :) So during my clean up I came across this cute new "Large Butterfly" from the Magnolia Butterfly Dreams collection. It was one of those 'had to have' stamps in this collection. And I had also attempted to fold a "Napkin card" a few weeks ago (tutorial can be found HERE), so last night I decided the butterfly just HAD to go on the Napkin card.

This is what it looks like closed..... I didn't have the right punch around the page set for the card, so I made do with the "Swirling Lace" set I had. I've got the "Cherish" and "Eyelet lace" sets on my wish list but just haven't managed to get them yet.

I had considered matting all the DP, but am glad I didn't as it probably wouldnt have closed :) The papers are Prima "Jack and Jill".

The band wraps right around the back to tie at the side.

Hahaha, and here is my attempt at getting a decent photo of the sparkle :)
The gorgeous lace is heirloom eyelet lace I found at a craft store yesterday while shopping with my sister.

All the DP is inked in Walnut stain and the white cardstock is inked with Antique Linen. The butterfly is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Copics.

I'd love to enter this Butterfly into these challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room - Doilies and Lace and photo inspiration
Wild Orchid Challenge - Wings
7 Kids College Fund - Seeing Spots

Thanks for checking out my Napkin fold card! It was heaps of fun to make.
Have a great day!
Hugs xx

The papers are a bit of a mix - Kaisercraft and DCWV. I've also used one of the sentiments from the new Thank U collection. And yes, I am still addicted to my MFT rolled rose die :) Too lazy to cut them out by hand, hahaha.

And here is the inside.

MDUC #91 with Tilda with Daffodils

Hi there, back again, lol. I disappear for days and then come back with two cards in less than 24 hours! Well... sorry, but there is going to be three, lol, I'll be back later on for the Tickled Pink Stamps blog hop.

This cute Tilda is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges #91 - No patterned paper, make your own! Hahaha, yes, we are not tricking you, and yes, it can be done! You should see my clever teamies have done over at the MDUC blog - OMGosh! I went with the easy option and I embossed. There is also some corrugated cardboard there that I've put a bit of distress crackle paint on, a page out of a book (not mine, my hubby's hahaha) and a paper doily... ok, not soooo imaginative :) But there are numberous options out there for you to try, emboss resist, stamping your own, the list is pretty endless.

I have masked the adorable "Tilda with daffodil" from the Butterfly Dreams collection onto the "Spring Fence" from the Hoppy Eater collection and coloured them both with Copics. I've also had my first attempt at colouring with Prisma pencils and the blue haze in the background and the shaddows are coloured with Prismas. I've got quite a bit of practice yet, but they are fun and something I can see myself becoming addicted to!

Now, a little bit of fun business to attend to.... I've redrawn the winner of my MDUC birthday blog hop candy as I didn't hear from the original winner... so I would love to congratulate CAROL from My Little Piece of Heaven - Carol you are the new winner! Could you please email me with your address so I can post out this little package of goodies to you...

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #90

Good morning everyone :)  How is your weekend going? I have had a great weekend so far. Yesterday we took the boys down to visit with my parents for the day. We went to the Zoo first of all with Grandma and Poppy and they had a ball, then on to my parents 'farm' for lunch and a play. The boys were exhausted by the time we had to pile into the car to come home, but they had such a blast - and so did we! I think Grandma and Poppy did too :) Today we are expecting a visit from my sister and otherwise a quiet day. Maybe there is a bit of a chance to sit and colour ;)

Anyway, my card today is for the current Magnolia Down Under Challenge! We are up to week 90 already, gosh, how time flies! This week we are looking for.... HEAVY METAL!

I haven't used any Tilda or Edwin for my card! Oh my! What am I thinking? hahaha. But I did use the gorgeous new accessory stamp from the Spring club "Tulip Wheelbarrow" and also part of the Happy Easter sentiment. I just inked up the section I wanted to put in my little silver frame.

Everything is, of course, coloured with Copics. The papers are Prima "Annalee" - nope, I am not sick of them yet :) The cardstock is American Crafts white and it is all stitched on the sewing machine. The silver photo corner and photo tab things (technical term, lol) are from Kraft Outlet. The silver sentiment frame is SU. Flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have hand stitched some blue acrylic beads onto the blue gingham ribbon as well. I've had these sitting in a container for some time and I acidentally knocked it over while I was making the card and had a little flash of an idea. Just something a little bit different :)

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:

01 April 2011

I'll be back on Sunday with my Magnolia Down Under challenges card to share with you. I'm sorry I've been a bit quiet these last few weeks, I've had my head down and bottom up working away on projects for the next Magnolia Ink magazine.
