Top 10 (or so) cards of 2013 - and a special surprise card that I forgot to blog!

Happy New Year everyone. Gosh, I am really looking forward to a new year. This one has been a doozey to say the least. I am very please it is going to be over in a little more than an hour!

I am borrowing this idea from my friend Louise who has just posted her top 10 cards for the year.
I forgot all about it this year but then was inspired by the amazing creations from Louise - go and check them out, they are just far too stunning for words!  But don't forget to come back and look at mine though ;)

While I was going through my hard drive looking at photos, I stumbled across a card I made back in April for a friend. Its a wedding card and it took me days to make, it turned out beautiful, but I didn't blog it for some reason? Very odd... but I've added it to the end of this post as well so if you make it to the end, check it out!

So first - my top 10....

#1 - January - my first card of the new year.
This card was actually published in Australian Cardmaking and Stamping magazine.

#2 - January - I really did like this collection haha. This stamp is still a favourite.

#3 - moving into February. This is a card I made while I was GDT for The Ribbon Girl

#4 - An oldie but a goodie, Ladybird Tilda

#5 - A birthday card for a close friend

#6 - a mix of a Magnolia image and a LOTV background, I love how this turned out

#7 - a Boys birthday card for a little friend of my boys'

#8 - a birthday card for a little friend of my son's

#9 - a gorgeous Make It Crafty stamp - Pheobe

#10 - my first Christmas card of the year.
This card is now in the good hands of Gina, a fellow Maggie fan.

#11 - oops, one more than I was supposed to have!
But I love this stamp from LOTV so I had to include it in the top cards of the year.

And now for the card that I forgot to blog! I am so surprised that I didnt blog this...
My work colleague and friend was married in March this year and I made this card for her and her new husband. The whole office needed to write on the inside so it had to have a lot of space, but I didnt want to create a massive card, so this is the result:

After some of my work colleagues saw it I received a few orders, lol. Its always nice to be able to share something handmade with people who appreciate it.
This card was a labour of love, the colouring alone took a couple of days.

I hope you like the little selection I've put together for you.
There is only an hour or so until 2014 to go and I am going to spend it doing what I do best - making a card.

I hope 2014 is everything you want it to be

It's Summer Time!

Well... it is here in Australia. Its lovely and warm here at the moment so I was in the mood to colour up a cute little Tilda from the Sea Breeze collection - Splash Tilda.

Tilda is coloured with Copics and because I wanted her to have a bit of a bronzed look I've used some darker colours, which I will list a bit later on.

The sentiment is also from the Sea Breeze collection.

A few dies were used, a MFT die for the note book edge on the sentiment, and Spellbinders Creative Book Pages set for the shape around Tilda.

I'm really enjoying my hols :) Can you tell? But unfortunately they're half over already, sigh.  I long for the days when I was a stay at home mum.

Well... I might be back a bit later on with something else to share, see how we go with the family activities today.

A little Lili of the Valley

Oh, I do love being on holidays, the chance to sit and colour and create without so many time limits is lovely.

I hope you are having a lovely Christmas break so far. Ours started off a little busy but now the big day is over things are settling down a lot.

Just for a little change I have a card to share today with a Lili of the Valley stamp - Hydrangeas.

The papers are all Prima "Delight". I have used a couple of Magnolia Doo Hickey dies and a MFT Chicken wire die to layer the card.

The edge stamping is done with Lili of the Valley Grunge corners and a Magnolia stamp from last Sweet Crazy Love Collection. The sentiment is also Magnolia from the A Little Yummy in your Tummy collection.
Some of the lace is from The Ribbon Girl, Live and Love Crafts and my stash.

I hope to have a bit more time at my craft desk over the next week. I've cleaned it up a little so its a bit more inviting to actually spend some time there.

Well, until I get back to my desk - have a great weekend,
Hugs x

Some simple Christmas cards

As usual I am running out of time! I have all these grand ideas to make Christmas cards, but never end up having enough. So this year, I've succumbed. I'm making some CAS Christmas cards.

All of the stamps are of course Magnolia. Some older stamps and some newer ones.

The kraft cards I found at a local department store and went to town heat embossing everything :) That was fun - I don't often heat emboss anymore.

These little cards have some patterned paper on them and I've used a doo hickey label die to cut the start on the white card to let the patterned paper peep through.

I over inked the edges of this one :/ oh well. I adore the little Polar bear and Penguin though! Such little cuties.

The papers are from MME Mistletoe Magic.

A fair bit of stickles is added to frost them up :)

I do plan on making some more lavish cards soon - I finish work for the year on Friday so hopefully after that I will have some more time to go crazy at my craft desk.

Don't forget that Magnolia Down Under Challenges has an anything goes challenge running until December 31. Please head over and check it out - there are three sponsors with prizes up for grabs :) We'd love to see you join in the fun.

Until a bit later in the week...
Hugs and happy holidays!

01 December 2013

Its the first day of December! Woohoo!
That means that today we're putting up our Christmas tree :o) I love decorating the house for Christmas. So much fun!

At Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week our challenge is CIRCLES - no corners allowed.

This is a cute Tilda from 2010. I've masked her with the Silent Night background from ..2008(?)

Some cute flowers and die cuts and we're done. A nice simple card this week.

I hope you get a chance to join in! We would love to see you.
