Charisma Cardz GDT - Christmas Crafts

**This is my 2nd post of the day - please scroll down for my Lil Lolita Boutique Challenges post**

There is a fantastic challenge over at Charisma Cardz this week - Christmas Crafts. There is some fantastic inspiration from the Design Team over there.

I've made a Snow Globe card. I've been wanting to try one of these for a while so this was the perfect excuse. It was a little tricky to get it to stand up.... I had to make the back of the card shorter than the front otherwise it flopped forward, lol. I wonder if everyone experiences that or if it was just a "Kylie" issue.

There are a few Christmas themed challenges out there at the moment so I am entering this over at the following terrific challenge blogs:

Truly Scruptious - Snowflakes
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Any shape other than 4 1/2 x 5 1/2
One Stop Crafts Challenges - Snowflakes in September
Sew Many Challenges - Santa is on his way
Totally Gorjuss - Christmas

Ingredients for this card are:

Stamps: Magnolia - Snowy with Flake, Edwins Town, Christmas seal
Papers: Making Memories, Acetate
Embellishments: Stickles, Bell, Ribbon, Heart rhinestones, Holly, Lace,
Other: Cuttlebug, Tim Holtz embossing folder, Sewing machine, MS Snowflake punch

Flowers and lace for MDUC #65

Hi there! It is a long weekend here in Canberra this week - yay! Gotta love that. I think we will be spending the day out in the garden today though, after a long winter there is quite a big of weeding and tidying up to be done.

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we have a nice easy challenge for you - Flowers and Lace. I had some beautiful chocolate lace from Websters Pages arrive in the mail this week which I had to use. I also inked up my recently acquired Right Through your Heart Tilda - isn't she lovely?

The cardstock that I used to colour her on is something very new to me. I normally use Xpress it Blending card, but this is Cryogen Irridescent White - and WOW - what a fantastic alternative to the Xpress It. Like the Xpress It, the Cryogen is a dream to blend on although this is my first time using it, but what is unique is the shimmery finish to the paper. I tried to get a good photo of this to show you but this is the best I could come up with:

Pretty cool hey? I love it. But guess what? It is not available here in Australia! Of course. Sigh. So if you want any, expect to pay hefty postage to get some out here. I have a small stash of this awesome cardstock which I will be saving for special occassions :o) (Thanks so much Claudia). I still LOVE the Xpress It Blending card of course, I just think that the Cryogen is also a really nice paper alternative.

Ingredients for this card are:

Copic colours: E 0000, 000, 00, 11, 13, 41, 43, 44, 51, 53, 55, 57, 59, R 000, 00, 20, 22
Stamps: Magnolia: Right Through your Heart Tilda, SU Tiny Tags
Papers: Websters mini Pages, Kaisercraft Secret Bird Society, SU Cardstock - Kraft and Choc Chip, Cryogen Irridescent White
Embellishments: Websters Lace, Velvet ribbon, Silver heart charm, Flowers and Pin (Wild Orchard Crafts), Paper Heart Doily and Flourish with a Bling (Tickled Pink Stamps), Stickles Diamond,
Other: Magnolia Doo Hickeys Swedish Lace (Tickled Pink Stamps), Concentric Hearts Cuttlebug Die, Cuttlebug, Sewing Machine, Tag punch,

This week the challenge is "Anything Goes" so I had free rein to do what I wanted. That usually means that I have trouble coming up with an idea... hehe, I like a little bit of direction please! lol, but I was rummaging through my stamps and found this little Tilda and her bathing ring just sitting there waiting to be inked up.... and bing! Light bulb moment - my new Whiff of Joy Pennant die from was going to be perfect for this card.

Wow - it is Thursday again! Wow, this week has just flown by. We have another fun challenge for you this week at the Lil Lolita Boutique - this week we are challenging you to use stitching on your cards. Real or faux, its up to you!

Whiff of Joy Guest DT call ~ Bottle Topper

Good morning everyone! Have you seen the Guest DT call over at Whiff of Joy? To enter all you have to do is create a Bottle tag using a Whiff of Joy stamp. Katharina has created a gorgeous example to get you started if you are interested... but be quick! The call ends on September 23.

I thought I would have a go at making a Christmas bottle tag using Uru and Bird, a cute Christmas stamp designed by Norma Fickel.

I had a bit of a try at Paper tole following the tutorial by Inge Groot which you can see HERE. I just love the 3D effect of this technique and have been admiring the beautiful work of Debby Yates for ages - so Debby if you see this - how'd I go?

Here is a side view of the image with its three layers. Do you like the pleated flower? I used the tutorial by the gorgeous Claudia Rosa which you can find HERE.

And here is the inside of the bottle topper card. I thought I'd have it open so I could write a message in there.

Ingredients for this card are:

Copic colours: E 0000, 000, 00, 11, 13, 30, 31, 34, 37, 41, 43, 44, R 000, 00, 20, 22, BG 93, 96, 99
Stamps: Uru with Bird - Whiff of Joy, Sentiment (inside card) by Magnolia
Papers: Websters Pages minis - Home for the Holidays, SU cardstock in Bravo Burgandy, Chocolate Chip, Xpress It Blending card for image.
Embellishments: Vintage lace, Gold and Diamond stickles, Burgandy Organza ribbon, Cherry blossom and Holly leaves (While Orchid Crafts), Burgandy beads
Other: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Circle and Scallop CIrcle, SU Scallop circle punch for hole for neck of bottle, Cuttlebug, Sewing machine, Distress Ink "Old Paper" for sponging

Challenges for this bottle topper card are:

Wild Orchid Crafts - Ribbons and bows
Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy - Christmas Colours
Cute card Thursday - A Tweet and a Flutter

Oh, and I thought I would share this cute photo of my 14 month old "helping" me photograph my bottle topper, lol. My little guys are great little helpers. Everytime I bring out a card I've made, my eldest (2 1/2 y/o) says "pwitty!", aww, thanks little Mate!

Well, enjoy your Tuesday everyone! I'm off to watch Play School with the kids :o)

Musing Melinda

I hope everyone had lovely relaxing weekends! We did - wow the spring weather really decided to treat us over the weekend. It was so warm and sunny and fantastic to have the windows open after a bitter winter.

My new Whiff of Joy stamps arrived! Yay! I had been admiring all of the beautiful cards made with this lovely Musing Melinda for months so decided to finally just buy her! Isn't she sweet? But aren't these papers busy!! I love them, but I really have trouble using them well.

My card is 5 x 6 inches for a change. It is surprising what a difference this slight alteration in width makes to a card layout. I've been playing a little bit recently with sizes and using punches and border dies on the edges for some interest and steering a bit away from my standard 6x6 card. This time I decided to keep the edges clean as the paper is so detailed.

I have a couple of challenges to enter her into:

Whiff of Joy - Layers
A Pocket Full of Posies - Floral Fantasy
Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes
Sweet Stampin - Stitching

Ingredients for this card are:

Copic colours: E 0000, 000, 00, 11, 13,41, 43, 44, 51, 53, 55, 57, 59, V000, 91, 93, 95, G000, 00, 40, 85
Stamps: Musing Melinda - Whiff of Joy (Bizzy Becs)
Papers: Kioshi - Basic Grey
Embellishments: Kaisercraft Rhinstone strips, 1 " cream stain ribbon, flowers (Wild Orchid Crafts), Charm, Stickles Diamond
Other: Nestabilities Fleur De Lis Pendant and Oval, Cuttlebug, Sewing machine, Distress ink "Old Paper" for sponging

Enjoy the rest of your day!

A Pink Elephant for MDUC #64

Woo hoo - it is Magnolia Down Under Challenges day!! This week the challenge is FANCY FOLDS, so a card with more than two folds - that may be a Joy fold card, a Gate fold card, Step fold, or even incorporating some origami on your card - the choice is yours. The girls on the DT came up with some interesting projects so please go and have a looksee. They are a very talented group.

I made my card for my friend's little girl's first birthday. I thought that the cute Magnolia Elephant would look really sweet masked and paper toled for a little girl's birthday card.

It is a little thick with all of the layers of cardstock, lol. I should have thought about that and made some gussets in the sides! But here is a better view of the paper tole. I also added the little tulip in the elephant's trunk for a fun touch.

And this is the inside. In hindsight I wish I hadn't sponged the edges. It looks a little bit dirty. Oh well! Live and learn.

Sweet Stampin #44 - Stitching
Totally Papercrafts - Happy Birthday!
Fun with Shapes - Lace
Just Magnolia - Lace it Up

Copic colours: RV 11, 10, 000, YR 65, 61, 000, YG 67, 63, G99

All buttoned up for Lil Lolita Boutique #15

This week at the Lil Lolita Boutique we are looking for BUTTONS!! Now, I am a bit challenged in the department of buttons so I kept it down to just three.

My card turned out a little vintagey which isnt what I expected but Iwas pleased, lol. I just love these papers and they suit the lovely '20's Evie perfectly.

And I paper pieced!! I usually am terrified of paper piecing but I was complete in awe of THIS creation by the amazing Annika (scroll down, its the 2nd card in the post) - I'd never seen paper piecing done like this before so I HAD to try it out - thanks Annika for the inspiration! Usually paper piecing is a little flat looking, but Annika's had such depth - thanks to her use of.... COPICS!!! Yay for Copics! I used W 0, 1, 3 to give Evie's clothing some depth.....

**CAUTION** - I need to let you know that some printed papers are not Copic compatible - the ink/dyes may run and ruin your marker tip. Please ensure you test your papers very carefully before attempting this. I used the chisel end of my marker on a scrap piece of the Basic Grey Wisteria paper first to see if the inks "wicked" onto the marker.

And here is a close up of the paper piecing.

So don't forget to head over to the Bouqitue to check out the rest of the amazing creations by the design team. We have a couple of new girls in the Boutique so please stop by thier blogs and leave them some love.

Oh - did you notice my extra special new watermark? The wonderful Heather Rolin (designer of Let it Rock and Going Batty stamps sets for Tickled Pink Stamps) created one of these for each of the Pink Ladies - how sweet is that? Thank you so much Heather!!

Challenges for Miss Evie are:

Good morning and happy Friday to you all! I was having a little play last night with one of my first Magnolia stamps, she is such a sweetie.

I never seem to use my RV markers very much so this was something new for me and I tried to colour Tilda so she looked almost like the was watercoloured. Whether or not I got it right or not, I don't know, but I like how she turned out anyway, lol.

Here is a little close up of Tilda. The image was cut and embossed using Nestabilities Labels 4 and the edges sponged with distress ink "Antique Linen".

And a side view:

I have to wonder if my Cuttlebug is wearing out though? I'm having some trouble with it not cutting right though the cardstock unless I pad the stack out with a couple of sheets of paper. I haven't heard of them doing this before? Has anyone else had any issues with theirs?

Ingredients for this card are:

Copic colours: RV 000, 10, 91, 93, 95, E0000, 000, 00, 13, 21, 41, 43, 44, 47, 49, G 0000, 40

TSB's Nancy takes a trip to A Spoon Full of Sugar

I am so excited! Marley asked me to be a Guest of A Spoon Full of Sugar this week! What an honour. The challenge this week is ANIMALS so of course I had to use one of Marina Neira's cuties from The Stamping Bazaar!

This is NANCY WITH BOUQUET - isn't she cute? She is my new favourite image from The Stamping Bazaar. And a special image and special occassion deserves some special papers, so I used Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice. I just LOVE this range.

I've used so many dies on this card, my poor Cuttlebug! I finally wore through a pad, lol.

Nancy is coloured with Copics and the edges are distressed with distress ink and then machine stitched. The borders are die cut with Magnolia Doo Hickeys and the corner flourishes are a Cuttlebug die.

So please make sure you stop by A Spoon Full of Sugar to see what the talented DT have created! Thank you to Marley and the Girls for allowing Nancy and I to come and visit!

"Susie with Pie" - giveaway at The Stamping Bazaar

OMG - isn't this the CUTEST image? Hasn't Marina outdone herself this time? This is Susie with Pie and she is brand new and soon to be released at The Stamping Bazaar. Do you want to be the first to own her? Of course you do!

She is released in digi form tomorrow... but if you want to win this gorgeous little kangaroo...you can leave a comment on the blog post HERE to be in with a chance to win.
Good luck!!

Dance with your heart

**Edited to add - This card came in the Top 5 at Stamp Something. Thanks Girls!**

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It is so soggy and wet here! There were massive storms acorss the south east of Australia over the weekend but we were unaffected, just a bit on the wet side.

Motivet have begun their monthly sketch challenges again so I thought I'd have a little play with a cute image "Ballerina Hilda". I just love these papers from Websters Pages, they are so detailed. I was going to add a sentiment to the card but then saw "Dance with your heart" written across the page and thought it was perfect.

I am also entering the card into these challenges:
Simon Says Challenge - Pearls and Lace, and
Stamp Something - Cute Somethings

Have a great week! I have heaps of posts scheduled in the next coming days with lots of exciting things to share - more new releases, who doesn't love a new release??

MDUC #62 - Feathers, Fur or Fins!

** Oh wow! I was Features at Little Red Wagon for this project! Thanks Girlfriends :) **

Happy Sunday! It is time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge! This week we have the theme of "Feathers, Fur or Fins" - so get out those cute animal stamps or get creative with embellishments !!

I was given this fabulous chipboard Birdhouse kit for my birthday which was just perfect for this challenge. I usually struggle with painting objects but I've discovered the Distress Crackle Paint - ohhhh.... it is so much fun! For this I've used "Old Paper".

I've used the little Coolabri birds from the Magnolia "Pets" collection from last year and coloured them with Copics. The little bird in the house is attached to a hat pin which is suspended from the top of the birdhouse with a burgandy pearl to dress it up.

I've added some pretty lace and burgandy ribbons, a pretty charm and some pearls and flowers to finish it off.

Ingredients for this project are:

Copic colours: R 35, 37, 39, G 40, 82, 85
Stamps: Small Colabries - Pets and Animals Collection 09, Magnoila
Papers: Xpress It Blending card for stamped images, Kraft for dragonflies
Embellishments: Lace, Charm and Flourish with a Bling - Pearls (available at Tickled Pink Stamps), Burgancy Ribbon 6mm and 20mm, Flowers (I am Roses), Bead and Hat pin (Spotlight)
Other: Twiddlybitz Small Birdhouse Kit, Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint "Old Paper", Distress ink "Old paper" to ink the edges, Magnolia Doo Hickey "Dragonfly" dies (available at Tickled Pink Stamps), Kaisercraft MDF circle for base.

Sarah Kay comes out to play

Wow, I've been so busy with DT projects lately! But I am through most of it and last night found a little bit of time to just play and found this cute Sarah Kay stamp "Rosalie's Bicycle" sitting on my desk waiting to be inked up.

I had in my mind to make a longer card than usual and remembered this Friday Sketchers sketch from last year that I loved and went searching for it....It worked beautifully with this stamp.

Stampavie's current challenge is to use Kraft, Turquoise and Yellow and every time I see their challenges I mean to play along so this was the perfect opportunity.

ABC Challenges have C for Charms and Cute Card Thursday have their challenge as Material Girl (I've used some gorgeous cotton lace).

The kraft paper lace is cut with a Magnolia Doo Hickey die (available from Tickled Pink Stamps) and the papers are a mix of October Afternoon and American Crafts. Everything else is from my stash.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges #1

Eeeekkkk!!!!!!! I can't believe it - the day is finally here - today is the day of the FIRST ever challenge at The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges!! This day has been eagerly anticipated by all of the DT. The winner of our CANDY has also been announced so if you entered - head over to see if you won!

We have FOUR Prizes up for grabs this month too - and spread across four winners! How fantastic is that? More chances to win for everyone.

Our first challenge is a colour challenge:

I've used a cute little bunny stamp called "Maggie" from The Greeting Farm (designed by Marina Neira) available at Tickled Pink Stamps.

My card has a fairly simple layout because I wanted to show of the beautiful Basic Grey paper so I've heavily matted the layers instead. I just fell in love with this paper when I saw it and it was just perfect for Maggie. The lace edge and leaves are die cuts by Magnolia Doo Hickeys and the hearts are a Cuttlebug Die.

You have until September 30 to enter our colour challenge, so get out your critter stamps and get colouring!

Introducing......Marvin the Bat - The Stamping Bazaar Blog Hop - day 1

Welcome to the first ever The Stamping Bazaar Blog Hop!! We have three days of blog hopping scheduled for you so remember to check back in tomorrow and Friday.

We are so excited to be showing you these gorgeous new stamps, designed by Marina Neira, they are just too cute. All of the digi stamps that we show you in these three hops will be going on sale on Saturday, September 4th, at 12:00am EST.

At the The Stamping Bazaar Blog, we will be giving away each day's featured digi to one (1) winner - but you must comment on the The Stamping Bazaar Blog - on each of the three posts to win before on Saturday at 12:00am EST.

There will also be one grand prize of all three Marvin digis given to ONE Facebook fan chosen at random.

We are starting today with "Marvin the Bat". You should have arrived here from Kristen... but if you didn't you might like to start the hop from the beginning with Barbara.

And here is my card! Being an Aussie, we don't really "do" Halloween (hahaha, yet!! I have a feeling it is going to take off soon though!!) so I couldn't readily get my mits onto some Halloween papers... so I improvised with some really bright papers I already had in my collection.

I had a great time colouring Marvin the Bat with Copics. The lace flowers and swirls were pefect for this card and are made with my Cuttlebug and Magnolia Doo Hickeys (available HERE if you are in Australia). The green paper has some random stitching on it to dress it up a little as it was really simple. The scallop edge is a Martha Stewart punch "Double scallop".

Your next stop on the hop is Marley but make sure you stop by The Stamping Bazaar Blog.... for your chance to win!!

Sunflowers all round!

Hi everyone! My post today is for Mad for Markers and I have a little shaped card in bright sunny colours for the first day of Spring!! Well, here in Australia it is. I'm hoping for a very spring like day, we've had so many dark grey ones this winter, but winter went quite fast this year so I can't complain! So despite it being the first day of spring, I've used a fall Tilda on my card.

This Tilda would have to be one of my all time favourites. She is such a bright and cheery little girl.

I've made the sunflower 3D with two extra layers. And also stamped two on the inside of the card. All images are coloured with Copic Markers.

And here is a close up of lovely Tilda.

So, Copic colours for this card are:
Hair: YR 23, Y20, E31, E55
Skin: E11, 00, 000, 93
Clothes and Sunflower:

And I am going to enter this little sweetie into the following challenges:
