Cute Card Thursday...... technology

Hiya :) Its Cute Card Thursday time! Woohooo. This week we are looking for "technology" on your cards... I have to say... I was a teeny bit stumped! But I figured cars were technology, lol, so it actually gave me an excuse to ink up the adorable little Summer car from Magnolia that I've had sitting on my desk for a few weeks.

I decided to make an easel card as the image ended up being quite large and I wasn't left with a lot of room for much else :)   The gorgeous red floral paper is by Memory Box out of the "Brioche" pack. Its really pretty isn't it? A little bit kitsch. So I tried to keep with that theme and did the car red and added a lot of white paint and paper lace and doily.

I used a Kaisercraft rub on on the pretty Magnolia doo hickey label and added some Prima butterflies and pebble. The chippy leaf flourishes are from Make It Crafty.

I would like to enter my card into ...
Stampin for the Weekend  - my favourite things (the gorgeous paper, the white paint and Maggies!)
Totally Gorjuss - Ribbons and Lace

Thanks for visiting me today! I have something off the page to share with you tomorrow, so I hope you have a chance to stop back in for another chat :)

Me @ (34) - another scrap layout :D

Hi again.. I think I might have become a tad addicted... oh dear.... I'm back with another scrap layout... I couldnt help it, really, I ordered this gorgeous new paper, it is by Cosmo Cricket from their new Odds and Ends range. This stunning floral sheet is called "Remnant" and the reverse side is the aqua and white dots. I am in lurve with this paper! Not the entire collection though, hahaha. I tend to do that with Cosmo Cricket, love one or two bits and not all of it? Strange. Anyway, WAY off track here :D As I was saying this amazing sheet of paper arrived in the mail and I couldn't cut into it to make a card but I had to use it straight away... so everything else on my craft desk was swept aside and I went to work...

I did have a few issues though... our printer died! OMG OMG OMG - my printer is really old, I've had it since before I met my husband hahaha. Technology and I rarely last together for more than a year or two, so this was a seriously much loved printer, not bad really as it was fairly inexpensive. So I started this layout with a scrap of paper 6x4 as a bit of a proxy for the photo until our fabby new printer arrived yesterday (thank you gorgeous Hubby).

The layout is based on two challenges.... the sketch is from Pencil Lines #244 and the colour combo is from The Color Room, palette #64.

I am a newbie to both of these challenges and I am a bit nervous to enter scrapping challenges to be honest! I'm sure I felt this way the first time I entered card challenges too, lol.

So I guess everyone now knows how old I am hahaha :D I decided to do a layout for myself because there are very few photos of me at all since I had the boys and my paper craft addiction is all for myself so I thought it would be nice to concentrate on me for a change. Everything else I do all day is focused entirely on my family (who I adore with everything I am) that it just felt nice to have a little me space. I think the next layout I do will be about the boys though, I have an adorable photo in mind that I have to print out.

So.... the detailed pics.... The large pink fabric flower is by Prima and was part of a candy I won from by friend Kellie before we actually knew each other. Don't you love how this crafty bloggy world just opens up your life and puts you in touch with so many wonderful people around the world? Kellie actually only lives about 6 hours drive away, lol, but still.. around the world :) hahaha. The white helleborous, white cherry blossom and bright yellow mini rose are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lemony rose on the side is from Kaisercraft. And there is a little Melissa Francis vintage door lock peeking out there too.

The wooden butterflies are kaisercraft, the foam letters are American Crafts Thickers and the "@" I cut on my cricut. I need to learn how to use my cricut a bit better :S next thing on my list..... oh, the gorgeous white flower is from Prima

The amazing blingy frame I wish I could share where that is from. Its been in my stash for a while without packaging and I am kicking myself for that as I would love more of these. It is really gorgeous IRL, the pics just don't do it justice.

The phrase is by Kaisercraft...a rub on.

A close up of the punching, ric rak, lace and stitching... the edges are distressed and inked with Antique Linen DI.

Oh, just another photo for fun.

And finally! The end! haha :D Thanks for hanging around this long.... I'm so sorry that I have so many photos here today, but I really enjoyed the creative journey of putting this page together. I just love the colour palette from The Color Room. If you are new to scrapping like me, I seriously advise you to head over and check out the work by the DT and also the amazing entries from everyone else. It is just amazing inspiration.

I'll be back tomorrow to share a card! Yep, I still make cards hahaha.  And don't forget to check out the NEW sketch challenge blog my friends and I are starting on July 9th... Pink {INK} its going to be heaps of fun and we'd love to see you there!

Ok.. I'm really going now.  Bye bye - see you tomorrow!

Oh!! I scrapped!

Good morning! I hope you are well and enjoying your day where ever you are around the world. Are you having a great weekend?

Well... I promised to share my scrap layout... and here it is! It is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges new challenge which is up this morning - Stitching and Swirls.   Why a scrap page you ask? Well... my gorgeous Magnolia Teamie Ying, shared a layout she put together last week and I was inspired! She encouraged me to have a go so here it is... I have managed to use a few different Magnolia stamps on my layout... see if you can spot them all... I'll list the details on my Maggie only blog if you want to know which collections they are from.

The year Jeroen and I were married we were lucky enough to go to Europe for a few weeks. One of the amazing places we visited while we were there was of course beautiful Paris. I have been meaning to do some layouts of our travels, wedding and our beautiful boys for a couple of years now but I never got around to it. So Ying, thank you so much for the encouragement, this is the first page of what is going to be a very full scrapbook!

I have possibly gone right over the top with my page, lol. I have so many gorgeous bits and pieces that I haven't used on cards because I'd been 'saving' them... so of course I put them all on the one page haha.

This beautiful crochet flower is made by one of my lovely blogging friends in Holland, Ingrid. Thanks Ing, I told you I'd put them to good use :) I am so pleased to have a little piece from Holland on my layout. Jeroen was born in Holland and we spent most of our holiday there so it was a must have :)

This gorgeous Prima pearl flourish was a pressie from another of my blogging besties, Karen.

The pink gingham yoyo is also from Karen for my birthday last year and the Prima flower is from the very gorgeous and talented Debbie P for my birthday this year. The crochet lace you can see peeking out under the flowers I've saved from a pressie from two gorgeous ladies, Jackie and Kylie aka "The Other One", lol.  I'm very spoilt and I have the most wonderful friends.

The papers are all Girls Paperie. The little wooden bits and pieces are Kaisercraft and the sparkly hearts are Melissa Francis.

I would love to enter my layout in The Shabby Tea Room challenge #67 - "Classic patterns" - use pink and green with either polka dots or gingham - I've managed to use both patterns on my papers.

Thanks for checking out my scrapping. I know I have a bit to learn (like when enough is enough, lol) but I thoroughly enjoyed creating a page. Expect to see more!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends,
Hugs xx

Cute Card Thursday - A fabby sketch

Hi everyone! It is time for another fantastic challenge over at Cute Card Thursday and this week we have a great sketch by our very talented Lisa.

I had a great time with the sketch and had another practice at watercolouring. I still need quite a bit more ;) but at least now I am game to show you a close up!

The girls at Cute Card Thursday have done a wonderful job with the sketch. I love looking to see how people interpret a sketch and this week it is really varied. Loads of inspiration for you to check out :) The prize this week is sponsored by Kraftin Kimmie as well, so definately worth entering!

I've used some of my gorgeous Websters Pages papers and given them a slight white wash. All of the edges of the papers are inked with Walnut stain. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts (Paper Aster Daisies) and Kaisercraft (Larger rose). I love these muted tones.

We would love to see what you come up with, I hope you have time to come and visit us at Cute Card Thursday this week :)

I'll be back on Sunday with my MDUC post... I've done something a little different this weekthanks to some encouragement from one of my gorgeous Magnolia Teamies, thank you so much Ying! ... I thought I would be a bit naughty and give you a hint.. there are sneaky peeks on my new blog header ;)

Hope to see you back on Sunday. Have a great few days til then!

Whiff of Joy Challenges # 107

Hi everyone! It is time for the next Whiff of Joy challenge.... and this time we have a fantastic sketch to play with by gorgeous Michele.

I thought I'd have a go at watercolouring again, but not use a character stamp but an accessory stamp as the main feature of the card. This is the "Sweet Cake" from the Spring club.

For colour inspiration, I decided to play along wtih CR84FN #32. I often check out their gorgeous colour inspiration but never get a chance to play along.

Thanks for visiting me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Cute Card Thursday card to share with you,

Happy Monday everyone!

There is a new challenge up over at the TOMIC blog today!  This week we have a fun theme for you to play with... SUMMER - we would like you to use your Magnolia stamps to create something Summer themed.

I've used two of the new stamps from the Sweet Rainbow collection - Watercan Tilda and Bird Background. I have watercoloured again! I find it really relaxing to paint as I have to slow down being a newbie to it. My friend Louise sent me some of her favourite watercolour paper to try - Louise Hunny - I love it!  When I colour with Copics I tend to speed through the colouring process.

I've made a Pop up card. I have seen these on various blogs in the past few months and I really wanted to give one a go. Then my friend Colleen posted a tutorial on the Lime Tart Zest blog - Thanks Col!  They are surprisingly easy. I followed the tutorial to the letter, with the exception of the size of my card. I wanted to punch around the page, so I started with a 5 inch x 6.75 inch piece of kraft cardstock.

Here it is closed:

And a side view....

We would love to see what you create for us this week, if you have a chance to make a Magnolia creation, please play along with our Summer theme :) We love checking out your work.

Thanks for dropping by to see me today, I really appreciate your visit. I'll be back later in the week with something else to share with you.

Magnolia Down Under Challenges # 101

Good morning Sunday! Well... it is Sunday already down here in Australia. And that means that it is time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge.  This week we are looking for.... Acetate.

I was a little bit stumped for what to do! I did consider a Shaker card, but there were already two of those on the blog and I am hopeless at stamping on acetate... just too impatient for the ink to set!  I wanted to do something a little bit different so I thought I'd make an acetate box. I had no idea what I was going to put in it, or how it was going to turn out, I just grabbed some patterned paper and started scoring.

It took three attempts at scoring the acetate to get the fold correct, it was late at night and the old brain just wasn't cooperating! The top and bottom of the box are made from Prima Botanical paper and I was given a gorgeous new PATP set from one of my bloggie besties for my birthday so I had to test it out straight away!

I was in a bit of a painting mood so I inked up "Tilda's Birds", "Butterfly background" and "Garden Tilda" with Versafine and stamped them onto some delicious watercolour paper. I'm still a bit of a novice with watercolouring, but I was quite happy with how the images turned out. Like with Copics, the choice of paper really does make a difference.

In the base I've scrunched up some cheesecloth and glued in some flowers. The background is attached to the back of the acetate box and Tilda is standing on some tabs that I've attached to the base.

I've used a combination of Magnolia Tulips and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (Ivory Small flat Gardenia, Ivory Cherry Blossoms, 15mm Pale blue open roses, Ivory Aster Daisies).

The edges of the box have been distressed with Walnut stain and liquid pearls dotted around.

The sentiment on the tag is from Tickled Pink Stamps.

Sorry for all of the photos, but I was kind of pleased with how my little box turned out. It is a bit like little Tilda is in an atrium, lol.

I hope you get a chance to come and play at Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week. The girls and I just love bisiting to see what you have made to share with us.

I would like to enter my box into these challenges:

Thanks for visiting me today :) I'll be back tomorrow with something else to share!

The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges mid month reminder - a recipe...

Hello! I hope you have a nice weekend planned. We are hoping for a nice quiet one.

My card today is for The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges mid month reminder. This month the challenge is a recipe: Three patterned papers, two buttons and use the colour blue.

I've used the Large Butterfly from the Magnolia Butterfly Dreams collection and the new Sweet Rainbow mini papers.

My buttins are the cute little wooden bee buttons that I've had in my stash for ages. The edges have had a little bit of a white wash  and distress.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday #195 for my card.
I would also like to enter these challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - birthstone colours

Hi everyone. Wow, what a day. The kids and I have spent it in the kitchen mostly. When the feeling to bake hits, go with it I say! I'm sure Hubby will be pleased when he gets home from work!

Anyway, my card today is for Cute Card Thrusday's new challenge. This week we have a colour challenge with a twist... you have to use your birthstone colours!

My birthday is in June (actually it's tomorrow, lol) so my birthstone is Pearl.... so white... oh no! I really struggle with all white cards... oh well. I suppose I could have mixed it up and used black and pink pearls as my inspiration too? Hmm....

I've used one of the new Pinkette's from Tickled Pink Stamps who are sponsoring the challenge this week. This is one of the newly released Lil Tom Boyz - Faith. She's so cute! I thought it would be a little ironic to put our little mud pie cutie on an all white card, I just couldn't help myself.

For DP, I've embossed the top layer with a SU embossing folder as much as it would fit on the cardstock, then embossed the bit at the bottom with my Swiss Dots CB embossing folder. Where the two folders met in the middle I covered up with my lace. All of the edges are sponged with DI Old Paper and Star Dust Stickles added to glam it up a bit.

The gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts... LOVE them! I received some fantastic news this week from Wild Orchid Crafts as well... I've been selected to join their DT! I was over the moon to have made the cut and can't wait to get started. These gorgeous flowers are Ivory Cherry Blossoms and White Hellebores. I just love Hellebores in winter. My garden is looking a little drab right now and some hellebores under my birch trees would look gorgeous... hmm... a job for the weekend I think!

The sketch I used is from a challenge that is to go up in a few hours time... so I'd better not mention who it is now ;) I'll be back in later to edit my post to let you know where to go if you like it! Its a great little sketch to play with.

We'd love you to play along this week at Cute Card Thursday! I had fun challenging myself to use white, we'd love to see what you come up with!

Have a great day, I'll be back tomorrow with something else to share.

Lil Pinkettes BLog Hop: August

Welcome to the Tickled Pink Stamps Pinkettes release for June.  You should have arrived here from the gorgeous girl I affectionately call "The Other One" Ms Kylie Brown.  If not you may like to start the hop from the very beginning at Amy's blog.

We hope you have been enjoying the previews of this adorable Lil Tom Boyz stamps this month. This blog hop is sure to inspire.

I decided not to make a card for the hop.  I bought a MDF word "CREATE" from the craft store a while back and had primed and painted it all ready for the perfect stamp... . The intention was to hang it on my craft room door. Then Kellie showed us the Lil Tom Boys stamps.   This adorable little August was perfect...

I've punched around the edge of some white card stock and used some cute papers and red gingham ribbon to hang cute little August from my sign. All the edges are distressed and inked with Antique Linen DI and stitched with some linen coloured thread. I thought it turned out really sweet :o)

These adorable Pinkettes will be released for sale as the hop goes live so if you would like some Pinkettes, you can try your luck to win them by visiting the Tickled Pink Stamps blog, or if you want them sooner than you can wait, you can purchase them at the Tickled Pink Stamps store.

The next stop on the hop is my gorgeous friend Louise - she is bound to have something amazing to share :o)

I would like to enter my sign into these challenges:

Thanks for visiting!

Me and my big....

hahaha - caught you're interest there?  I just want to show you my altered project for Magnolia Down Under Challenges 100th challenge which happens to be "Alter It".  This adorable little Tilda is "Tilda with Ponytail" and she was just perfect for this purpose. She looks like she is deep in thought.

I decided to alter a note book that I found at a local craft store months ago which has been sitting on my desk waiting for my attention. The note book was sitting all alone in a reduced bin for $2 waiting for me to come along and adopt it. I wanted a little book I could jot down ideas for sketches or projects to keep me organised and inspired when feeling a little lacking in the old mojo. However, Mr Mojo had gone walkies and I almost didn't finish altering my notebook in time for the challenge.

I covered the book with MME papers "Good Day Sunshine"  and gave the raw edges a coat of 'vanilla' acrylic paint.  The lace and ribbons on the binding are just little short bits I had left over from other projects that I couldn't bear to throw out, they came in handy afterall!  I raided my button collection for some cute little buttons and tied on some string. The little frame that Tilda is sitting on is just some heavy board that I cut with nesties and painted, distress inked and glittered. There is some cheesecloth and a paper doily too. The glitter heart is by Melissa Francis.

On the inside cover I have made a little envelope to collect little bits and pieces. You can also see the detail of the gorgeous paper a little better :)

I hope you have time to join our challenge this week! Tickled Pink Stamps are sponsoring the challenge with a fantastic prize of Fishing Tilda and the Easter issue of Magnolia Ink Magazine.

I would like to enter my notebook into these challenges:

Thanks for visiting me :) Don't forget to check back in a few hours for the Tickled Pink Stamps blog hop!
Have a great weekend!

TPS June release Pinkette Tom Boyz: Pippa

Are you ready for another Tickled Pink Stamps Pinkette "Lil Tom Boyz" cutie?

This is Baseball Pippa and she is just adorable with her little freckles :) She is the second last Pinkette to be previewed. The entire collection will be released with a big blog hop on the 13th. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Pink Ladies have done for the hop, something amazing I am sure !

I've used digi papers for my card. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to digi papers but these worked out really well. The edges are distressed with Old Paper ink and there is a bit of Old Paper crackle paint on the silver frame.

I've had so much fun working with the Pinkettes this month! Don't forget to stop by the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out the work of the Pink Ladies and to also make sure you are in the running for the fabby prize Kellie has on offer. And if you want to get your hands on these little Pinkettes, they will be available for sale after the blog hop on the 13th.

I would love to enter my card into Stamp Somethings "Something Punched" challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today! I'll be back tomorrow with my MDUC project to share!
Have a great weekend.

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenges

Hi! And welcome to my post for Challenge #1 at The Official Magnolia Inspirations Challenge (TOMIC)!  Yaaaaay!! We are all so excited.

For our first challenge all of the Magnolia DT girls who are participating in the challenge are playing along and after this week we break into groups. The first challege is very special - the theme is "Birthdays".  The entire Design Team has created birthday cards to send to an extremely important person in the world of Magnolia stamps - the creater, our talented Pauline, who is celebrating her birthday today :)

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Pauliiiinnnnnneeeeee
Happy birthday to you!
Grattis på födelsedagen!  Kram xx

The card I made for Pauline features one of her earlier Tilda stamps from 2006. Hasn't Tilda grown up? lol. This adorable little Tilda is "Gungande Tilda" from the Summer, Sun and Rain 2006 collection.  I've made a circle card and punched a strip of white cardstock with a border punch and pleated it to create the pretty edge. The card also has had a little bit of a white wash with some Gesso. All of the flowers are rolled paper flowers and I've decorated the inside of the card as well. I hope Pauline likes the card when she opens the envelope.

We would love for you to come along with our first challenge. We are sponsored by Magnolia with the random winner receiving a secret package from Magnolia! We can't wait to see what you create :)

Fuzzy Wuzzy challenges #10

Hi everyone! Its Friday - woohoo! What do you have planned for the weekend? I think we have a bit of gardening and cleaning up our yard in store for us... we had some excavating done today so there is a little bit of mud to  clean away.

Being the first Friday of the month, it means that it is time for a new Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge! This month we are sponsored by Cute Stamps and Cards in The Netherlands. They stock so many stamp brands and pretty much everything you could need for paper crafting. They have offered us a gorgeous Popcorn Bear stamp set to give away, so this month's challenge is just not to be missed.

The challenge is to use 3 papers, two buttons and the colour blue somewhere on your card, layout, OTP project.

I decided to ink up another House Mouse stamp that has been very neglected. I bought this cute stamp "Geronimo" last September and when it arrived the foam had been damaged so I was never able to stamp a clean image - then I had a bit of a light bulb moment and I removed the rubber from the wood block and used it with Tack n Peel on my arylic block - perfect!

I've used my new My Favourite Things doily die and Melissa Francis 5th Avenue paper pad (OMG I have Melissa Francis papers finally!). The image is coloured with Copics and I've used AC Thickers for the letters. The cherry blossoms are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I would like to also enter the card into these challenges as well :

I think this is it for me this week. I'll be back with my card for the 1st TOMIC challenge on Tuesday! Woo hoo! Not long to go now :) Can't wait!  Have a wonderful weekend!
