A hAnglar stAnglar Christmas

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**

OMG - what a busy time of year we have entered! I love Christmas, but the tasks to get done prior... yeah, happy to give that to someone else to do! LOL.

I ordered a gorgeous hAnglar stAnglar kit when they had them on ebay a few weeks ago (I just love that they are doing that now) and they have been sitting on my stamp rack ever since! So when I saw the Lovely hAnglar Only challenge this week I had to grab them and ink them up!  The challenge is to create a Tea Light card.... and since my little disaster a couple of weeks back, I have bought some tea lights! Yay! So it was a good opportunity to have another go. I search the net for a tutorial to make one in a different format than the last one I made.... but nup, it wasnt to be so I just measured up my tea lights and designed my own.

I used this weeks sketch at Friday Sketchers (#130) for the front of the card and tried to carry through some of the theme to the inside as well. The senitment is a new sentiment and die set (love them!!) available at Tickled Pink Stamps. I just love the shape!

I had heaps of fun making this tea light card! The papers are a mix of SU! and DCWV. The hearts are cut from a Cuttlebug Die "Concentric Hearts", one of those dies that I bought and didnt use for a year and then came across it in the drawer one day and haven't put it back since!

Some more challenges for this tea light card are:
Creative Inspirations - Christmas Gifts
Cupcake Crafts Challenges - Light it Up (use a candle)
Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club - Use a Die cut
Moving along with the Times - More than one fold
One Sstop Craft Challenges - Use a Christmas Cutie
Stampavie and More - Hearts

I just want to add... if you are looking for hAnglar stAnglar stamps - they sell on ebay direct... you canfind them HERE... and there is a really sweet Christmas kit for sale right now. I have seen some individual stamps for sale on Austrlian ebay for ridiculous prices and there is no reason why you can't buy your stamps direct from hAnglar stAnglar.. be careful what you pay!

**woot woot!! I came in the top 3 - thanks so much girls!!**

And the top 5! Thanks so much Cupcakes :)

A summery card for MDUC #74

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**

Happy Sunday to you all! The next challenge is up over at Magnolia Down Under... and this week our challenge may be a little bit out of season for all of you  in the Northern Hemisphere....but not for us Down Under! The challenge this week is.... Summer!! LOL - put those snowflakes away for a break and get out your summer themed stamps!

I thought I'd make a card that opened out.. I'm not sure if there is a special name for it, but it is a bit like a sideways gatefold. I used the very summery ice cream image on the front of the card and on the inside I have Happy Tilda from the Right Through My Heart collection. I've had this MME "Bloom and Grow" paper in my stash for some months now and I pull it out all the time, admire how gorgeous it is and then carefully put it back in the rack, lol. So I thought it was time to actually cut into it... OMG! Such a gorgeous colour combo.  And I had to use a pretty lace doily as well, I thought it suited the ice cream feel. I used my EK Success Binder edge punch on the main image matt, both outside and inside, and also the MS Double Scallop edge punch on the bottom edge of the top flappy bit.

And here is the inside of the card...

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Just Magnolia week 83 - Sketch by Donalda
Moving along with the Times - More than one fold
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Use Punches
Craft your Days Away - Texture

Tickled Pink Stamps Tickled Pink Christmas sentiments BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Tickled Pink Stamps "Tickled Pink Christmas" blog hop!  You should have arrived here from Kylie Brown's blog... if not you may wish to start at the beginning at Kellie's blog!

We have been really loving the new Tickled Pink Christmas sentiment stamps and die... they are so versatile. The stamps only come in rubber and are a set of 6 sentiments, a decorative frame and two small accessory stamps. The die is a perfet fit around the decorative shape. I just love them all! They go perfectly with Lil Lolitas and Lil Lads Christmas range, and the gorgeous Cherrie christmas stamps. I even used the decorative frame and die for a card I'll be showing on my next post with a sentiment from a different company, so you can mix and match with stamps you already have all year round -  so don't think you won't use them after Christmas, because I guarantee that you will!

I decided to make some little gifts to hang on the Christmas tree. The adults in our family aren't giving gifts to each other this Christmas, just the kids, so I thought I would make some gift boxes....These were fairly simple to make, just some fan folds for the top half and a pyramid box at the bottom filled with.. yup, you guessed it - chocolates! And can you believe - no coloured image! I know - how unlike me! But I had so much fun making these that I just have to do some more... The day that I was making these I had some help from my "big boy", 2 1/2 year old Jarred. He had so much fun with the template I was using, colouring and folding, so cute. I just love it when the kids get involved with my craft.

The next stop on the hop is the super gorgeous and extremely talented Magali! Oh - don't forget to leave a comment at each stop for your chance to win... win... win!!

I also want to enter these gift hangers into the following challenges:
Winter Wonderland - Shape up
Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club - Use a Die cut
Craft your Days Away #9 - Use Texture (the folds and the hearts)
Crafty Creations - Christmas is coming
Creative Inspirations - Christmas or Winter
Everybody Art - Use Shapes
Fun with Shapes - Anything but a Card
Moving along with the Times - more than one fold (lol, I lost count!)
Sew Many Challenges - Red and Green
Stampavie and More - Hearts
Stamptacular Sunday - A time for Giving - make a gift

Whiff of Joy - December release ... and a couple of challenges ;)

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**

I am a little excited to show you this card today! The stamp is a new Whiff of Joy release which will be available from December 1st.  Is this just the cutest couple? They are Nora and Ben.  The stamps are a new design by Alison Acton and are for New Years, but I think they work just as well for an Engagement, wedding or Valentines day!  There is also a fantastic new sentiment set which I have used one stamp from... "Eat Drink and Be Merry".... so stay tuned for some more....they are circle sentiments and fit perfectly in a circle Nestability or circle punch.

I used Tara's fabulous sketch from Whiff of Joy Challenges and thought I'd make an easel card. I haven't done one in a little while.

Whiff of Joy also have a new range of pearl brads out... arent they stunning? These ones are called "Magic Moments" and are a package of 26 brads in two sizes and colours. I just love them. They also come in "Magic Dreams" and "Magic Feelings".

Some challenges for this cute couple are:

Tickled Pink Stamps Christmas Sentiments release - Day 2

I have my next Tickled Pink Christmas sentiment and die preview for you today! This time I decided not to use a coloured image.... I know - wow! And there is a chance for you to win as well.... just head over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out the awesome work by the DT and leave a comment there for your chance to win the entire set - including the die!

Tickled Pink Stamps are releasing this fabulous new sentiment set for Christmas, and there is a matching die to go with the shape! How fantastic is that? I decided to make some little paper cones for chocies to show you how great these sentiments are without an image (although they are fabulous with a Lil Christmas image or a Cherrie image too!).

My very talented MDUC teamie, Anne Kristine made these heart shaped tag cones and when I saw them I just went WOW! She is a very clever lady :) So I really wanted to give it a try myself. I had some heart shaped paper doilies and some pretty Magnolia papers from last year's Christmas collection, so I thought I'd make mine to hold some chocolates for gifts to hang on the Christmas tree (lol, not that we have ours up yet...). I wove the papers together (as you would for a Swedish heart) and then placed them over the doilies and folded them around. Some inking on the edges and stitching and decorating and this is the result! Now, if I can just keep DH away from them until Christmas.....

The sentiments come in a set of six different phrases, a border flourish, and two small accessory stamps. They are a fantastic set to have in your collection and I've been using them ... a lot! The matching metal die coordinates perfectly with the border frame as well. I love that! The stamps are only being released in rubber so the size matches the die perfectly.  They will be released on Saturday after a big Tickled Pink Blog hop.

So head over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see what the rest of the fantastic DT have created! I'm sure you will be impressed.

Some challenges for these gifts are:

7 Kids College Fund - GDT "Non-Traditional Christmas Colours"

***Don't forget to check out my CANDY! ---> ***

I am very lucky to have been asked to be a Guest DT member for 7 Kids College Fund Challenges this fortnight, so a HUGE thanks to the gorgeous Mary and the entire talented team!! I am so very excited to have been asked. And I had a blast making my card for the challenge. Oh! I'd better tell you about the challenge, lol.

So the challenge set for this fortnight is "Non-traditional Christmas Colours" - so of course I went with pink ;) And of course I used a cute Magnolia stamp (or two!) for the occassion.

I cut into my beautiful Websters Pages minis "Sweet Season" christmas papers (I know, I know... it was really difficult!) and got out my doo hickeys. I used Secret Tilda and the Candycane accessory. Tilda actually was holding a present behind her... but I cut it off and put the candycane in there instead. I think she looks cute :)  I coloured her in Copics on Bee Paper and then did some (dodgy) watercolouring for the shaddows in Walnut Stain distress ink. So here she is... does she look Christmassy?

I followed a cute tutorial for ribbon scrunching (the cream 6mm ribbon) which you can find HERE, and added some lace and inked the edges of all paper and cardstock. The tag and sentiment are SU! and the little gold resin Christmas tree is from my local craft store. I think it was intended for gift wrapping, but hey, it works here too :) Oh, and of course, a little gold bell for good measure!

Some challenges to enter for this Pink Sweetie are.....
Fussy and Fancy - Christmas with no red or green
Totally Gorjuss - Non traditional Christmas
All that Scraps - Magnolia Challenge #4 - Something Christmas

Tickled Pink Stamps Christmas set - release and Lil Lolita Boutique Challenges #25

***Don't forget to check out my candy --->***

Well... this is a post with a double purpose!  Tickled Pink Stamps are releasing a fabulous set of sentiments with a matching die! I didn't actually use the die for my card however... but stay tuned! There will be another preview tomorrow.....The DT have done another amazing job with thier work to entice you ;) so ensure you head over to Tickled Pink Stamp blog to check it all out. The stamp set consists of 6 sentiments, a decorative frame and three accessory stamps. All too cute! I've been using them constantly since I got my mits on them. There will be three days of previews (starting with this one) and then on the fourth day, a big blog hop for the release. Sounds fantastic yes?

It is also time our last Lil Lolita Boutique challenge! Yes, it is very sad, we have been together playing in the Boutique for 25 weeks now and we have a fabulous team. But as they say, as one door closes... and another opens... I don't want to say too much as I don't want to ruin any surprises, but there is something VERY exciting in the pipeline... so all I can say is.... STAY TUNED!!!!!

This week at the Boutique we have a great sketch by Kellie to play with.  I've decided to go with the Christmas theme again... just can't have too many Christmas cards!

I used Lil Christmas Lad Luca for my card.  Suave isn't he?

The snowflakes were cut from acetate on my cricut and then coated with stickles, so they are a little hard to see in the photo.

Some challenges for this card are:
Sketchy Colours - Red and White
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - Circles (dots on DP, beads)
Die Cut Dreams Christmas - Anything Goes
Totally Gorjuss - Not so Traditional...

Tilda has a gold Christmas

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**

Good morning! Did you all have a great weekend?

I have a little play with this cute little Tilda last night. She is so cute. But I think I say that about all Tilda's, lol. The challenge this week at Just Magnolia is "White plus one" so I have chosen gold, I thought it would look lovely and elegant. And while I was working on this card, I saw the new Totally Tilda challenge pop up in my browser to... Glitz and Gold - how lucky was that? LOL.

The papers are all from the DCWV "Linen Closet" stack. I just love the glittery piece behind Tilda, so beautiful. The gold cardstock is left over from my wedding invitations, haha, yep, I save everything, and somehow even back then, I knew I'd use it down the track :) I gathered some white organza ribbon on my sewing machine and used my nesties to create a little circle for Tilda to sit in. The snowflakes are a Magnolia Doo Hickey die.

Some more challenges for this card are:
Totally Gorjuss "Not so traditional",
Crafts and Me "Glitter".
Crafty Calendar Winter Snowflakes
Fussy and Fancy - Christmas with no red or green
Simons Says Challenge - Sparkle
Stamp with Fun - Square
Stampavie and More - Monochrome

Mmmm.... Gingerbread

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**
Ohhh.... its the weekend! How wonderful! I have a little card here to share with you today that I was playing with this week.

This is Gingerbread Tilda and I have coloured her on the Bee Paper that I was talking about the other day... only this time, I've not only coloured her with Copics, I've also had a little go at deepening the shaddows with distress ink.  Its my first go at watercolouring in a very very loooonnnggg time so be nice :) All of the pleats and folds in her clothing, her shoes and basket and the shape of her hat and face are slightly coloured with distress ink. The surrounding is also coloured with distress ink (Walnut Stain and Old Paper). It was fun experimenting so I think I will try this again... I do need the pracitce :S

The gorgeous papers are Websters Minis, "Waiting for Santa and Sweet Season".  I thought the little gingerbread houses went well with the cute image. Tilda's gingerbread hearts in her basket, and the punched hearts are covered in Crystal Effects for a little bit of gloss.  I distressed the edges of the image as well.  Its a pretty simple layout, but the papers and image are able to hold there own :)

Some challenges for Gingerbread Tilda are:
Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club #44 - Anything Goes
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Distressing
ABC Christmas Challenge - X for Xmas
Creative Inspirations - Christmas/Winter
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Marker Madness
Paper Sundaes - Pick your Toppings (I've gone Punches, Ribbon and there is a tiny bit of blue (leaves and papers)
Stampin for the Weekend - Winter

The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges - mid way challenge reminder

Hi eveyone! Ready for some serious cuteness?  It is time for The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges mid month reminder ...WOOOOOHOOOO!!!!!  Our November Challenge is "Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall" - a season challenge. We have had some seriously gorgeous entries so far and we would love to see what else everyone can come up with.  We also have two terrific sponsors this month - PB Stamps who are offering a gorgeous set of Penny Black clear stamps, but also a 15% off lifetime discount. And also Tickled Pink Stamps with two digi images perfect for the Winter season, Mollie Mittens Christmas and Christmas Wilfred the Wombat  - They are just toooo adorable!  OMG - I want to win, lol.
A gorgeous bloggy friend sent me some House Mouse stamps a little while ago (Thank you sooo much, you know who you are !!) And I've been itching to use them... this one in particular is just beautiful. He is a Gruffie and he is called "Lilac Bouquet".  I've made a sort of masculine Spring card.

I used the sketch over at House Mouse and Friends...albiet a bit loosly, lol. But the elements are there :)

And yes, I know lilacs are meant to be, well lilac(!) but I wanted to make this card for my FIL's birthday and so a little more masculine so checked out google images to see if lilacs came in any other colour...which I was pleased to see you can get a lemony cream lilac.
So... some other challenges are....

Whiff of Joy's Winter Church goes sepia!

Hello Friends! I was playing around last night colouring in sepia. I saw the challenges for Everybody Art (Monochromatic Brown) and Stampavie and More (Monochrome) and an idea struck, lol. I thought the gorgeous Whiff of Joy Winter Church would look fabulous if I tried out that cracked glass technique over a sepia coloured image.  My only issue is - I didnt have any UTEE... only clear embossing powder, so I made do, lol and embossed it 5 times. So I was pretty happy with the result, considering that it was my first go.

What do you think? I tried to make it look like an old photo. The paper is Crate Paper, from the rather funky "Snow Day" paper pad. But I thought it worked pretty well in a vintage setting with a few matts and some lovely lace.

So more challenges are:
ABC Christmas - X for Xmas
Crazy 4 Challenges - Christmas Card
Creative Inspirations - Christmas/Winter
Stamp with Fun - Square

I also just wanted to alert you all to my gorgeous bloggy friend Stephanne's candy... over HERE... she has some Belles n Wistles gorgeousness up for grabs for a lucky winner...

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenges #24

Hi there :) The challenge over at Lil Lolita Boutique this week is "Christmas"  - a nice easy one hey? Well, apparently not for me!  Well... I wanted to try something and I think I failed... you know those cute tea light cards that everyone in blog land seems to be making - aren't they gorgeous? Well... here is my lousy attempt. Yeah, I know. It isnt up to scratch is it? There aren't even any tea lights in it!! Hahaha. I totally thought that I had a whole box of them in the cupboard... but when I went to get them - they were gone! Maybe it is the papers? Are they just too busy? I was trying to go a bit funkier than normal... I just think perhaps I am not a funky kinda girl :)

I used the gorgeous Lil Christmas Willow recently released at Tickled Pink Stamps. She is just lovely. The crazy papers are by Kaisercraft.

Here is the inside...and another sneaky peak at a fabulous sentiment ... coming soon to a PINK stamp store near you!

Ok... I think it is time to forget about this disaster and move on, lol. Sorry if I caused you a migraine by visiting my blog today :S  I promise next time I will be back to "normal" whatever that is!!

Have a great day!

Star Tilda for Just Magnolia

There are so many beautiful stamps out this Christmas! I hope I get a chance to use them all before the silly season is over... yes, I was really bad and bought quite a few this year.

I've been admiring the gorgeous white on white creations around blogland and I've never been able to master it... so I was determined to have another go and this beautiful Star Tilda was perfect!

I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder Snowflakes for the background paper and hid the joint with the lace and ribbon. I used a Cuttlebug die for the snowflakes and Nestabilities Labels 10 and Classic Ovals.  The edges are coated in Stickles Diamond and I've added Kaisercraft blue pearls. The little leaf is a Whiff of Joy die.

For the Copic fanatics:

I had a pack of "Bee Paper" sitting on my paper rack from earlier this year. I bought it as it was recommended by Angie to use for Copics and watercolouring, but as I was a newbie to Copics back then, I really did not like it much and so the pack was sitting gathering dust. Having coloured a couple hundred images since then, lol, I thought I'd give it another try.... and this is the result...

Yes - it is lovely paper and I did achieve a good result (well, I think so anyway!). It is very different from Xpress It Blending Card though. It is very light weight (89lb v's the 92lb of the Xpress It). It does not bleed. It does take a little extra effort to blend so I recommend "flicking" to drag the ink on the paper rather than the little circles that we are usually told to do (which I have to say I very rarely do these days). Due to this it is a little more difficult with the darker colours, but these pale pastels it worked quite well. I also had a go of "tip to tip" blending on the Bee Paper (Tilda's sleeves and headband) and it worked beautifully. The paper has a lovely smooth finish to it, unlike the Xpress It which you can sometimes see fibres on the surface. The ink does show through on the reverse though, just like the Xpress It.

I've coloured a couple more images with the paper since... they will be blogged over the next week or so and on these I've also used distress inks to add shaddows ... so stay tuned if you want to see some seriously terrrible distress colouring!

And if you are going to use alternative papers, test the colour of your markers on it first to ensure you are going to achieve the colour you want as all papers show colours differently!

So.. challenges for this card are:

Whiff of Joy - Angel with Trumpet

Oh, is it Monday again? Where do the weekends go? I think time is really starting to fly now we are in the lead up to Christmas - so much to do and only...40 days to go I read somewhere this morning! Eeek!

I had another play with my Whiff of Joy Angel with Trumpet stamp on the weekend. He is such a sweetie. I used my Basic Grey paper pad "Eskimo Kisses" and cut out swirls with my Whiff of Joy "Romantic swirls" die and hearts with my CB die.

The sketch is from Friday Sketchers by gorgeous Jacque and I am also entering the Basic Grey challenge "Wings" and Whiff of Joy Challenge "Christmas". Some other challenges are:

Getting Shabby and Chic for MDUC #72

This is my second post of the day.... if you are looking for my Tickled Pink Stamps "Lil Christmas" blog hop post... click HERE.
Good morning and Happy Sunday to you all! We have another exciting challenge for you over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges.... it is Shabby Chic.
OMGoodness - I have to say... I did struggle a tad with this theme. I am not really used to making Shabby Chic cards so I went in search for some inspiration on the net, gotta love google images! I ended up deciding to use my Distress crackle paint and some sponging to age all my paper and go with a blue, silver and white theme.

The new Cricut got fired up with SCAL and some cut files I'd downloaded and I cut out a circle card with a hole in the middle for some acetate. I started cutting out the leaves with the cuttlebug but decided it was all taking too long (I did need 40 of them afterall) so again, back to the Cricut and I used that to cut the leaves out. I then sponged all of the leaves with blue ink and stamped a snowflake all over them with silver ink. I used my Magnolia Doo Hickey dies "Wings" and "Swirl" and my small Fiskars punches for the hearts and stars and my MS punch for the snowflakes. Then to assemble! I decorated the inside of the card with Magnolia paper from the Fairytale collection. Everything was then generously stickled and a wire edges ribbon, crystal stems and flowers added. The white star on the bow is from my local Spotlight and when I saw it this week I had to have it.

So.. what do you think? Shabby Chic?

Challenges to play in are:

Ingredients for this card are:
Copic colours: E0000, 000, 00, 11, 13, 41, 43, 44, 47, 49, B 91, 93, 95, 0 blender, R 20, 00

Lovely Tilda

Wow - Friday again! I've had a bit of a slow crafting week this week, thank goodness I was organised last week and got a lot of my crafting done that had to be posted this week.

This card I've been working on for a few days in bits and pieces. There is a new challenge for Magnolia-licious and their first challenge the colour combo of Pink and Yellow, so when I saw that I had to play along. These colours aren't a combo I use very often, if at all, but I am really pleased with how these colours come together as pastels. But of course, a little bit of kraft cardstock and white lace goes a long way to balance it all out.

I had this gorgeous little stamp "Lovely Tilda" from the Fall collection just sitting waiting for some attention. She was one of those "must haves" that I first saw in the Fall Magnolia Ink and then she didn't see ink until now. I do that a lot, lol. The paper I used was just perfect for this challenge. It is Pink Paislee "Sweetness" petite paper pad. But that is where my creative flow stopped! I knew I wanted the paper to be scene but I couldn't work out a sketch without covering them up... until I was talking to a friend today and was reminded of the circle doily die... another of those "must have" items that I just haven't bothered to try out. I bought this die on pre order, as I am sure most of you did, thinking that it was a full circle only to be a bit surprised to receive half a die in the mail. So it has been sitting in that too hard pile waiting for me to gather my patience to give it a go. And Yes... I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to match up the pattern without too much of a hassle. Gotta love scotch tape. Anyway, back to the paper, lol, I decided to use my craft knife and carefully cut around the gorgeous flowers to tuck the doily in underneath. There is also a Magnolia doo hickey tag sticking out the top right side under the flowers. Add a lace doily, a generous amount of stickes and voila!

I am also going to enter these challenges:
Ingredients for this card are:
Copic colours: E 0000,000, 11, 13, 31, 34, 50, YR 31, R 000, 20, 81, 83, RV 000, W 0, 1, 3
Stamps: Lovely Tilda - Magnolia Fall 2010 collection
Papers: Pink Paislee "Sweetness" (Tickled Pink Stamps)
Embellishments: Paper doily (Tickled Pink Stamps), Flowers (I am Roses and Wild Orchid Crafts), Stickles Diamond, lace, Melissa Frances Vintage resin corner
Other: Magnolia Doo Hickey Dies "Doily", "Tag", "Leaves",

Well we have another very cute Lil Christmas Lolita to show you today... she could be my favourite from this collection... but there are still a few more to go so maybe not, lol. They are all pretty fantastic aren't they?  This is the very cheeky Lilith. I am so pleased that Christina (the illustrator) decided to make Lilith a bit less dark and definately a bit more FUN!  See for yourself... isn't she a minx? I love how she is sneaking around ready to hand out the pressies.... or is she?? Hmmm...maybe Lilith is being naughty and not so nice?

Guest Designer for Make It Crafty - 'Make it Move' technique challenge!

Howdy everyone! I've been busting to show you what I have here today but have had to wait for what seems like aaaggeeesss... well, it was only a week or so, lol, but it felt longer!

I am a Guest Designer for Make It Crafty for their "Make it Move" technique challenge which starts today! To play along Zoe sent me her fabby new "Wishing Well" kit. I was lucky enough to get a bit of a sneak peak when Zoe was designing it and had been eagerly anticipating the arival of this package in my mail box.

I decorated my Wishing Well with some Magnolia images (of course), and Zoe designed the Wishing Well exactly the perfect size for Tilda.

If you would like one of these awesome kits for your self - here is the link direct to the kit - Make It Crafty - Wishing Well

Now, I am going to be honest... when the kit arrived I was a little apprehensive...there were a LOT of pieces, lol. And I have to admit, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to assembling kits. So knowing this, I thought I'd be good and actually read the instructions prior to assembling the kit. Much to my relief, all the parts were very clearly labelled and the instuctions very easy to follow.

I normally work in my craft room in peace and quiet when my little boys are having naps... but Jarred (my eldest 2 1/2 years) has recently decided that "naps are for babies" so gone are my quiet afternoons! I really wanted to get started on the project so I ended up assembling my wishing well at the kitchen bench over an old cookie tray with Jarred sitting up next to me chatting along and "helping". It took about two hours to assemble and paint. Not bad hey?

I've added flowers, ribbon, lace and some liquid pearls to decorate with a generous amount of Stickles Diamond and a good spritz of Glimmer Mist. Along with Tilda with Three Flowers, a frog and some little blue birds, all Magnolia. All images are coloured with Copics.

Check out the detail on this! Fantastic hey?
Would I make another one? Oh you bet! I loved it. And - for those of you who enjoy kits that work - the handle cranks and the bucket moves up and down - how impressive is that? LOL, I have to say I was a bit relieved when I'd assembled mine that the bucket actually DID work as it should (despite me attaching the handle back the front... oops).

I painted the wishing well with Distress Crackle Paint in "Picket Fence". This is the BEST stuff for a project like this because you only need to do one coat, plus a few little touch ups, and it dries SUPER fast. I love it! I also love the gorgeous aged finish. I chose to use yellow and blue to decorate for a bit of a change. And I filled the bucket with some gorgeous paper roses.

Edwin gets beady for Just Magnolia

Hi everyone! I bet you thought I'd lost my Magnolia stamps hey? hehehe - Never!

I am soooo into the Christmas spirit already - and it is only just November! Woohoo! Last year I was struggling to get all of my Christmas cards done in time but this year I've started early...but then... I also need a heap more too, hehehe. And a little teaser...I'm also feeling a bit like sharing the Christmas spirit around... so keep an eye out for a little bit of candy **coming soon**!

This cute little Edwin was a part of the Fall Stamp Club, isn't he adorable? I thought I'd give my new Cricut a bit of a test drive and created this scalloped circle easel card. It was so fast and easy! I used to trace a circle and cut it out by hand, then to hide my dodgy scissor work get out my distressing tool, lol, but none of that anymore!

The challenge this week at Just Magnolia is "Anything Goes" with the option to use beads. I raided my bead collection and found a hat pin waiting to be decorated, so that is my beaded element.

The flowers are cut with the new Magnolia Doo Hickeys out for Christmas with some vellum. I was a bit surprised how well they turned out. I then sponged the edges with some distress ink and pinned them together with brads. Overall I guess the card is a bit simpler than my usual cards, but I stopped myself from going too far so Edwin could shine :) The challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is Gently Does It (use Vellum/Partchment or Tissue paper).

Ingredients for this card are:

Stamps: All Magnolia - Santa Edwin, Merry Christmas Sentiment, Snowflakes - all from the Merry Christmas 2010 Collection, Silent Night background - Santa Collection 2008
Papers: Kaiserkraft - Tis the Season
Embellishments: Gold ribbon, gold bell, hat pin and beads.
Other: Magnolia Doo Hickeys, Whiff of Joy die, Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Cricut
