25 March 2012

Good morning everyone :o)
Time for another fun challenge at MDUC. This week the challenge is BINGO.
I thought I'd mask together these two cutie pies from 2009 Pets collection with the Tulip Path from Butterfly Dreams 2011.

The card itself it quite tall to fit my Ellie and Lion tower, approx 7 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. I've punches around the edges with my MS Cherish punch set and then folded both sides of the card inwards.
There is some cheesecloth, a paper doily and metal corner, along with some flowers and rhinestones and stickles.

The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts
All images are coloured with Copics.

I hope you get the chance to join us at MDUC this week, we are choosing the winner by random org this week and the winner will be our GDT for April!

Until later, thanks for stopping by!

Freckles and Pigtails

Cute name isn't it? When I heard what Kel was going to call her new store, I loved the idea and when she asked if I wanted to come along on her next adventure as part of her DT, I was excited and humbled to be asked :)

So Freckles and Pigtails was born and Kellie has been busy behind the scenes creating and collecting fun scrapping bits and pieces for us. The store officially opens on April 8th but has been announced so head on over to the blog to check it out and don't forget to follow so you don't miss out on any of the excitement as it unfolds.

So what will be stocked??? Well... I made this scrap layout of my youngest using a few of the gorgeous bits and pieces... so we have handmade fabric yoyos, flat back buttons, Tags and pockets, library cards, washi tape (!!!!) - just for starters. There is heaps more but you'll see..... you'll see.... ;)

This photo of little Aiden is almost a year old now and he is tucking into an ice cream at my parents' place down the coast.  He's such a little cutie pie, well,  both of my boys are! I'm not biased at all haha.

The papers are just a random mix of scrap I had on my desk. The fabric yoyos are just fantastic quality. All of the fabrics Kellie uses are so soft, all cotton! The trims are from my stash and the alphas are a mix of AC Thickers and Prima. I've used my October Afternoon spritz and a chicken wire mask, some ink splatters here and there and some staples and gems on my layout. I wanted it to be a bit messy as little Aiden was getting a bit messy in his ice cream :)

So I do hope you'll head on over to Freckles and Pigtails to see what is happening over there. If you're a scrapper, Smasher, cardmaker or any type of crafter, there will be something there for you.

Wild Orchid Crafts challenge # 45 - Bingo

Happy Monday everyone.
There is a new challenge over at Wild Orchid Challenges today - and this time we're playing BINGO!
(I have gone with Gems, Flowers, Ribbon and lace)

This little cutie arrived in my mailbox the other day and I couldn't wait to ink her up. She is "Tilda with Bathcap" and she is sitting on "Bath Tub", both stamps are from the new Princes and Princesses collection just released. I have also used the new Kurbitz flourish from the same collection, and the Especially for you sentiment from an earlier collection. This is an amazing new collection chock full of gorgeous stamps. It was a really tough decision narrowing down my selection when I was placing my order :)

The flowers, lace, ribbon and brads are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.....

The papers are MME Lost and Found 2.  All of the layers are stitched together and the images coloured with Copic markers. The bath has lots of glossy accents on it and the bubbles lots of stickles :) I really enjoyed putting this card together.

I hope you get a chance to come and play at Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge - but please - check the rules before entering, we find a lot of people aren't and unfortunately their entries are being disqualified.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Hugs Me x

MDUC 138 - Old treasures

This HAS to be my favourite Magnolia stamp of ALL TIME! Yup, I said it - all time!
And why? It is the perfect interpretation of my little boys. My eldest has curly strawberry blond hair, and my youngest LOOOOVES all things aeronautical. So this stamp is the perfect combination of both of my little guys. Thank you Pauline for creating a stamp which suits my babies perfectly :o)

This card is for MDUC's challenge - Old Treasures.  The old treasures on my card are buttons from my dad's old shirt. My mum saves me all of the buttons :o)

I masked Edwin with Plane (Princes and Princesses) onto the Soccer bench (Winner takes it all) and then stamped the sweet Tim Holtz sentiment on the side in Weathered Wood DI. I really wasn't sure how the card was going to turn out, I don't really make cards like this often, lol, but I love the end result. The papers are October Afternoon Rocket Age and I have inked them with Old Paper DI.

The string and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I just punched some holes and added some copper eyelets for a bit of a boyish touch.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us at MDUC this week. We are sponsored by Tilda's Town and there is a fantastic prize up for grabs.

I hope you're having a great crafty weekend. I'm still not 100%. I wish my sinus infection would go away!! Oh well... at least there is ample time to sit around colouring in ;)
I have something else to share with you tomorrow so until then, have a great weekend.

The Sketchy Challenges - Corry's back!

Well friends, it is Saturday and that means that it is time for another challenge from the Sketchy Girls over at The Sketchy Challenges!
This week Corry is back after a brief absence. Welcome back Corry hun!! And to celebrate, she is hosting this weeks' challenge :) Woohooo. We have The Paper Shelter are sponsoring and Corry has cooked up a fabby sketch for us to play with.

I inked up Diving Tilda  to play with Corry's sketch and made a Shaker card. If you are looking for a tutorial on shaker cards, look no further than the TOMIC blog.

This is the first time I have cut into a new Kaisercraft paper pad I have "Sweet Nothings" and wow, it will not be the last! I adore that background paper with the vintage sky and bird, gorgeous! The scalloped circle is also cut from the Sweet Nothings pad and has some lovely gold foil detail.

All of the flowers, pearls and pearl string are Wild Orchid Crafts. The beads in the shaker card are from my stash.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this fortnight at The Sketchy Challenges

I would like to enter these challenges:

I have been home sick all week - actually, its been 8 days, *grumble grumble*. Its nothing serious, just a sinus infection, its just enough to make me very grumpy, lol. I am on antibiotics but they don't seem to be doing a great deal. I think I may need to head on back to the doctors on Monday if I am still not right. Sigh... there is always something isn't there? haha. Oh well.
I'll be back tomorrow with something else to share for MDUC :)

Until then, have a great weekend!

TOMIC - Feathers and flowers + Liza's sketch

Its TOMIC time!
Wohoo.  This week the challenge is Feathers and Flowers + Liza's sketch.
I had a great time playing with the sketch and inked up little Gymnastic Tilda (The Winner Takes It All collection 2011)  for some fun.

Dont forget - if you are looking for some Magnolia bargains, look no further than Shop Bron - some stamps are currently as low as $10 - head on over and grab some bargains!

The corners are stamped with the new corner stamp from Princes and Princesses.
I decided to use the sketch a little bit differently.

My card is shaped on the front panel and opens out with a belly band.
The papers are MME Miss Caroline.

And the rear of the card.

I hope you get a chance to come along and play with us at TOMIC this week!

Scrap layout

Tuesday already? well, it is over here anyway ;)
We had a long weekend so I had a bit extra time to craft and catch up on things. I've had a horrible sinus headache all weekend so I've not wanted to do much else but sit around - so why not play with paper while I do?

This is my first attempt at scrapping a non person photo. The pic is of our block of land that we plan to build on later this year. Burra is the name of the district.

The papers are October Afternoon Sasparilla and I've used some October Afternoon spritz and white Gesso here and there. The alphas are Amercian Crafts thickers.

I had some fun stitching on this layout. The ric rac and gathered lace are just bits and pieces I've had laying around. The tag and pocket are Melissa Francis and the die cuts are from October Afternoon as well.

I guess the layout is fairly busy :) Oh well. I just liked the papers and had to keep going. I need to learn how to just stop! haha.
Well.... I have more to share with you, it has been a very busy crafting weekend, but I'll be back tomorrow with that!
Until then, have a great day!

Tickled Pink Stamps March Release BLOG HOP

Welcome to my little stop on the Tickled Pink Stamps March release blog hop!!
I am so happy to be moonlighting as a Guest DT member with Tickled Pink Stamps, it has been a few months since I had the opportunity to have a play with these fun stamps.

You should have arrived here from the talented Ms Brown - Kylie C, if not, you may like to head to the TPS blog to start at the beginning...

I just HAD to play with Lilith for the hop. I love that Lilith is the French ambassador for this collection.
The papers are Prima Printery and I've cut into one of the sheets for the fun phrases and borders.
The label card shape was cut on my Cricut.

There is a mix of fun embellishments as well on my card... The beautiful black lace, pearl pin and mulberry paper flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts. The stunning lace and pearl flower was a pressie from my good friend Karen (who has candy on her blog atm if you are interested).  And the resin Eiffel Tower I found at my local craft store and HAD to have it!

The next stop on the HOP is the uber fun and talented Lizzie - I can't WAIT to see what she has in store for us!  Dont forget to end the hop at the TPS blog as Kellie can't help but give things away so there will be goodies there on offer, just leave a comment to be in the running.  And if you don't win or can't wait long enough for the winner to be announced and have to have one of these fantastic stamps NOW NOW NOW... they will be released at the end of the hop so you can head on over to the TPS store to grab yours :)

I would like to enter some challenges -

Thanks for visiting - and good luck!

WOC - Get in shape

Hi there everyone! I am writing this post as quickly as I can as I don't trust that my computer is going to get me through... today it has been a bit iffy... I picked it up around lunchtime and opened the lid - it made a crackling sound and smoke came out the side. Oh-my-goodness.... Cross your fingers and toes for me as I really don't fancy it breaking down on me! Anyway...

Are you ready to get in shape?
Well.. I don't necessarily mean physically, haha, although Tilda here might have got the wrong idea here!
The new challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts challenges this week is to "Get in shape" and by this we mean - to use at least 3 different shapes on your projects. They can be any shape at all, circle, square, heart, etc, but we want to see at least three different ones.

I have four shapes on my card - circle, square, rectangle and heart.

I have used lots of gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts items on my card...

The adorable stamp is "Yoga Tilda" from The Winner Takes All collection from Magnolia.

Psst - if you are looking for some Magnolia bargains at the moment - check out ShopBron she has a sale on - all 'older' Maggies are $10!!

I hope you are having a lovely Monday. The rain has finally stopped here and the sun was out for most of they day (yipee!!),  lets hope it stays that way for the rest of the week.

Thanks for stopping by.... I hope my computer is just having an off day so I can come back to chat a bit more with you later in the week!

MDUC - buttons and bows

Good morning!
There is a new challenge at MDUC this morning - Buttons and Bows.
This week we are sponsored by ShopBron - thanks Bron!

I inked up cute little Super Edwin. Can you believe that I hadn't had a play with this stamp yet? OMGosh.  He is so cute! I know superheros are supposed to be blue and red, but that just wouldnt have worked with my papers now, would it! haha. I added some glossy accents to his boots and mask.
The papers are new MME and all of the embellishments are from my collection.
I cut the stars on my Cricut

I hope you get a chance to join us this week. The challenge is a nice one and can be for both male and female cards. Actually, I just heard that I have the need to make a baby card so I think I'll be using buttons and bows again this week ;)

Have a great weekend everyone, thanks so much for stopping in to visit me.

The Sketchy Challenges #18 - my sketch

Hello - are you all having a lovely weekend?
It is very wet and raining here. The local town is on a flood warning from our week of rain. Nevertheless, we didnt let it deter us from heading out to visit our close friends who live about an hour away. We had a great afternoon catching up and watching the kids reacquaint themselves. It has definitely been too long!!

Anyway, my card!! There is a new challenge over at The Sketchy Challenges this week.  We are very generously sponsored by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps
The sketch this week is mine so I hope you get a chance to play along.
I love checking out what all of your crafty geniuses do with my sketches.

I decided to use "Just Swingin" from Little Darlings for my card.

The papers are Crate Paper "Paper Heart" - loooove this paper pad. The sentiment is Magnolia.
All of the amazing flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts

Thats it from me today - I'll check back in with you all tomorrow,
Hugs x
