Wild Shabby Magnolias?

Hi there! Well... I've been a little bit tricky with my project today and actually combined two DT assignments and one GDT assignment into the one project..... is that naughty? I am not sure... but I am feeling very time poor at the moment. August has been a super busy month for my family. Gosh, I am so looking forward to September.... oh... wait... maybe.....lol, I think I have just talked my DH into selling our house and moving to a rural property.... I think things are about to get a bit nuts.... anyway... onto my little project ;)

First up - there is a fantastic new challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts Challenges - Tags Tags Tags.

I am also a Guest DT member at The Shabby Tea Room this week - so exciting! The challenge is birthstones!  My birthstones are Light amethyst and pearl so I've gone with a lavender theme and added some pearls in there for good measure. Have you checked out the amazing projects the DT have created? Wow oh WOW. I love The Shabby Tea Room - and if you've not seen it yet, there is a DT call on currently... well worth checking it out if you are interested.

The beautiful papers are Pion Design and all of the embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Ohh... its also TOMIC time again! Aren't you all just LOVING it? I know we are loving seeing what you are creating to show us every week.

This week the challenge is... Back to School PLUS Metal.... sounds like fun? Yes, I thought so! I thought I would make a tag using adorable little Study Tilda from the So Heavenly collection from 2008.

Little miss Tilda is coloured with Copics in muted tones and the paper edges are distressed and inked.

I hope you have a chance to come and play along with all of these challenges..... they are all fantastic and the prizes are wonderful.

Thanks for stopping by today and for all of the gorgeous comments you leave me.

If you havent already entered my candy, just click on the pic in the side bar.... only 11 days to go!!.

Show us some texture....

Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all having a great weekend.
There is a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under today and this week we are asking you to show us some texture.

My Doo Hickey dies arrived this week (woooohoooo - so excited) so I used the little cloud and coloured up with little Sweetie Tilda from the Sweet Rainbow collection.

I love these book box cards so I thought I would make one for a birthday gift. The gorgeous papers are Crate Paper. Love them! They are so bright and cheerful. The quality of the paper is amazing, so heavy. All of the flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

And the inside with a little pocked for a note and the cute little box. I was a little bit punch happy.

We would love to see what you create for us this week.I hope you get a chance to pull out your favourite Maggie stamps and show us some texture :)

I would like to enter my card into some challenges too...

I'll be back tomorrow with some more Maggie cuteness to share with you.

Until then, have a fabulous weekend! And don't forget to enter my candy (in the sidebar) if you haven't already!!

TOMIC #12 - a very special challenge

It's time!!! It is Monday and you KNOW what that means - a new challenge at TOMIC!  This week at TOMIC is very special - we are celebrating the birthday of the Magnolia Ink Magazine - its two years! How amazing is that? And because the Magnolia Ink is printed on recycled paper, the challenge this week is to.... RECYCLE SOMETHING.  So here is my little project for this week:

And what did I recycle you might be wondering?  Here is it..... empty boxes from my kids snacks (yeah, I'm cheap, lol, I buy store brand snacks hahaha).  I adhered my patterened paper to the cardboard and then put it in my Cricut and cut out the birdcage shapes. I love recycling! And this was a good experiement to see how the Cricut went cutting out something with great detail on heavier card. It worked brilliantly!

All of the edges are inked with Walnut stain then stamped around each piece with "New Years Swirl" from the 2008 New Years Collection. The chipboard bird is painted in Distress Crackle paint. I had stitched the lace to create the little flower, then added a Prima pebble. The rub on is Kaisercraft. The white rose was a gift from my beautiful friend Jane and the deep pink flower at the bottom was a gift from my cousin.

The papers are Prima Botanical. This page of the album features the sentiment from the Sweet Rainbow Collection.  The leaf is by Magnolia. The glitter heart is Melissa Francis.  The Eifell Tower has been in my collection for so long I dont know where it came from... but it is so lovely and sparkly :) Love it!

Here is adorable Ballerina Tilda from the Fairytale collection 2010. The shabby flowers and pebble are Prima. The leave and berries are Magnolia and the pink hydrandea is Petaloo. The pearls are Flourish with a Bling.

So that was my effort of recycling this week! I had a ball putting this album together. It is loads of fun creating somethin other than a card sometimes.

All of the images are coloured with Copics. Oh, and here is a repeat of the first pic of the cover so I can give you the details.... Beautiful Tilda from the Butterfly Dreams collection and large Dragon fly doo hickey die. The taupe rose trim is from my gorgeous bloggy "sister" Louise :) As are the Prima Botanical papers. Thanks Hunny!  The roses are Wild Orchid Crafts.

Some challenge for me are.....

I hope you like my little project as much as I liked creating it :)
See you again soon..... if you haven't entered my CANDY yet... click the link in the sidebar :)

Flutterby Butterfly

Gosh, aren't the weeks flying by? Can you believe it is only 4 months until Christmas? I am trying to get into the Christmas spirit early this year as I am currently trying to get some pieces done for the Christmas issue of Magnolia Ink. Hmm.... I was kind of hoping the newly released Christmas paper ranges would help with that! But I think I might have to put on some Christmas Carols to do the trick :)

My card today is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges where the challenge this week is Flutterby - Use a butterfly - or many butterflies on your work. I thought it was a brilliant excuse to get out my MS Butterfly edge punch and make an accordian card.

I've coloured four Magnolia stamps from the Butterfly Dreams collection for my card, including the adorable little Magnolia. The papers are just gorgeous, they are Pion Design all the way from Sweden.

Aren't the papers perfect for this challenge? I am just in love with them. The amazing flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts. All of the images are coloured with Copics. The pennant banner is cut by hand and dotted with Liquid Pearls. All of the panels are stitched to the card.

The reverse side of the card has little pockets on each panel with different tags in them for messages to the recipient.

Some detail shots of the cute Tilda's and Magnolia. And the amazing colour of the WOC flowers. Check out that amazing Trellis Rose. I wish I could grow roses like this one! It reminds me a lot of the roses I had in my wedding bouquet. Just stunning!  There are more punched butterflies and some silver butterfly charms as well.

I hope you get a chance to come and play at MDUC this week. The girls on the DT have put together loads of gorgeous inspiration to share with you.

I would like to enter my card into some challenges.....

Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers - Flutterbies
Cutie Sunday - Lace Puncher
Fab n Funky - A Stitch in Time

I will be back tomorrow with my creation for the next TOMIC challenge. I'm not going to let out any secrets, but it is a special week at TOMIC this week, not one to be missed ;)

I also want to mention that there is still 10 left to enter The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges as well. This month the theme is Shaped Cards and the sponsor is Lili of the Valley so definately one not to miss! All you have to do is ensure you create your shaped card with an animal theme and you are in with a chance.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today and if you haven't already entered my candy, the link is in the sidebar :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Pink Ink Sketch Challenge #4 - Cheri's Sketch

Don't forget to enter my Candy.... click on the photo in the sidebar :) ------------>

Woohoo - its the weekend!! Have you had a great week? Yes? Excellent. That is just what I wanted to hear. I've had a good week too. My family is well, my boys loved going to day care this week and I had a great week at work. Things are looking pretty sweet here in the Kueter household.

There is a fabby new sketch up over at Pink {INK} Sketch Challenges :) This challenge is being hosted by the ever lovely Cheri and she has created an awesome sketch for us. Cheri is also sponsoring this challenge so someone lucky is going to have some super fun sentiments to play with.

I decided to do a scrap page again instead of a card. I have so many cards hanging around and so many photos that I want to sit and remember the wonderful moments when they were taken that I am just trying to mix things up and do a bit of both. This photo was taken in 2006 when my Hubby and I were lucky enough to visit Holland and spend some time in his birth town of Alkmaar. In this pic you can see my FIL showing us around the town he was also born in and grew up in. Alkmaar is a beautiful town and we have the most wonderful memories of our visit there. Shortly after this photo was taken we took a boat ride on the canal - hehehe. So much fun! I'll do another LO of those photos shortly. If anyoone out there knows what I am referring to, leave me a comment - I'd love to hear from you!

The gorgeous Arum Lillies are a birthday gift from my friend Agnes - who is also in Holland :) I just love these little connections around the world. The papers are Sassafrass Lass "Sweetly Smitten". Just gorgeous. I kept my LO fairly clean with just a bit of stitching and then splattered some glimmer mist here and there. The black lace is from a friend's old stash.

We would love to see what you come up with the great sketch.

I would also like to enter my LO into this week's challenge at The Colour Room:

Well, thanks for listening to my chatter! I will be back on Sunday with something to share with you for MDUC. I hope you have something fun planned this weekend :)
Chat to you soon

Cute Card Thursday - Weddings

Its Thursday so you know what that means!  There is a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday... and this week we are looking for Weddings!  I decided not to make a card this week but to scrap some of my wedding photos. This is the first wedding page I've done.

(edited to add - Yep, lol - I had very dark hair when we were married, much to my Dad's annoyance. I went back to blond when we were having children as I wanted to match my babies, how dopey is that?)

The gorgeous paper is Websters Pages Lullaby Lane Die Cut. There are a few pieces of Websters trims as well (the cream spotty gathered piece and the pinky brown scalloped bit).

The metal frame is Tim Holtz and the sparkly letters are American Crafts Thickers. The magnolia flowers are Petaloo. The rest of the bits and pieces are Wild Orchid Crafts (gold filigree corner, organza rose trim, cream cotton lace, 25mm wild roses, rilk ribbon).

Just a few detail shows :)

I've dotted Liquid Pearls on some areas around the edge and also some 3d kindyglitz.

Am I boring you yet? haha. Sorry.

So, last one! It was really nice to finally do a page for my wedding. It only took me 5 years! Haha. I hope you can join us at Cute Card Thursday this week.

I would like to enter a couple of challenges with my LO
Fuzzy and Fancy - Use a Lot (3 or more) of your fav embellishments - ribbon, lace, flowers, buttons, doilies, crystal stem, metal embellishments

Thanks for checking in with me today! It was nice to see you. I'll be back on the weekend to chat again :)

Wild Orchid Crafts - Dena's sketch

Don't forget to enter my candy! -------> see pic in sidebar ----->

Running late again... this is becoming a teeny bit of a habbit isn't it? I am so sorry. I had my second day at work today! It was great to get out of the house and stretch the brain a bit differently. My children are on the mend! Wow. Two weeks of illness - can you believe it? Gosh, Hubby and I were wondering what we had done to deserve all of this. We are so pleased to see our beautiful little boys behaving like themselves - happy faces and normal cheekiness. It is just bliss.

My card today is for the new challenge up at Wild Orchid Crafts. This fortnight there is a fantastic sketch by Dena :)

I thought I would use a gorgeous Stampavie stamp that I have had in my stash since March. When I saw this range released I just had to have a couple of them. I adore the vintage outfits and the dogs. So cute! The papers are Websters Pages minis from one of the new sets (sorry, can't remember the name for the life of me). The doily is cut with my MFT die. All of the embellies are Wild Orchid Crafts.... detailed list below.

Look at allof those flowers! I had a ball putting this card together. I actually gave it to my Manager at work today for being so understanding about my absense in my first week due to my sick kids. She has been fantastic. So... details of the gorgeous products...
Well.. thank you so much for stopping by to visit me! I'll be back on Thursday with something else to share with you.

Rocket Man

Don't forget to enter my candy ------>
see link in my sidebar ------->

(and check out my friends candies too!! they're super sweet)

Well... I made it! Yes. I wasn't sure I was going to get it done but I did. So without any further whinging from me about germs and illness and sleep deprivation (hehehe), here is my project for this week's Magnolia Down Under Challenge......

Yep, I scrapped again. This adorable and happy little man is my eldest son. This photo was taken a few weeks ago after a hair cut. He was so proud to have hair like Daddy (rather than a head full of amazing rose gold curls) he was just beaming! There is nothing quite like your child being happy is there? Seeing their beautiful face lit with joy or hearing their infectious giggle. Its just magic. All those stresses and worries just fade away and the world seems right again. Sorry..... getting a bit soppy there. But after the fortnight we have had, I just had to soak it up for a bit :)

So back to what I am here to tell you! The challenge this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges is "Inspired by a song" so I have chosen to scrap this cute photo of my baby with the title "Rocket Man". His bedroom is decorated in a space theme and he just loved the moon, starts and spaceships. Typical little boy, haha. I'm afraid I can't really shed any light on the papers though as they really are all scraps. Most unusual for me, I usually cut into the gorgeous new stuff :)  The two Magnolia stamps (Rocket and Moon) are from the new "The Winner takes it all" collection.  The sketch is the August bonus sketch #1 from Stuck?! challenge. I'm not sure I'm supposed to link it up due to their challenge rules, but I wanted to share the link with you anyway as the sketch was heaps of fun to play with.

So there it is... we would love to see what you come up with at MDUC this week. The DT have gone all out as usual so do head over and see what magic they have whipped up for you again.

I just also wanted to share the cover of the new Magnolia Ink which will be out very very soon.... gorgeous isn't it? I'm not sure who created the cover as it is by a reader not a DT member so there is some very lucky person out there about to squeal when they see the cover with their gorgeous artwork on it :) Gosh, I would love to be in the room with whoever that is when they see it. A big congratulations to you whoever you are!!

Well.. that is it from me today. Sorry for the really loooong post. It seems I have my voice back ;)
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting me!!

Cute Card Thursday - #177 "Clean and Simple"

Don't forget to enter my candy! Link is in the sidebar ---->

Oh boy - did someone say the forbidden "CAS"? Oh yes. Yes they did. Panic!! lol. Truth be told, I love clean and simple cards. There are some very talented ladies out there who make the most amazing CAS cards and I am very jealous, hehehe.  I just dont 'do' them myself :o)  But yes the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is in fact clean and simple... and it was FUN. Oh yes it was heaps of fun.

I inked up little Tilda with balloons and rummaged for some of my favourite Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice papers and went to work.

So just to stay 'true' to myself, hehehe, there is a bit of inking and stitching and some stickles :)

I would also like to enter a couple of challenge myself.:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy Birthday
Anything Goes - Happy Birthday
Craft your days away - Birthday
The Crazy Challenge - Embossing

Thanks for visiting me today. I hope to be back on Sunday with a project for MDUC for you but it seems that my house is still full of illness :S Fingers crossed we're all germ free soon.

Wow, I am having a great week this week. The kids are on the mend (woohoo), I had a fabulous first day at work yesterday and things are just generally really on the up right now.

I was thinking the other day that it is almost my 2nd blogaversary! Oh wow, I can't believe its almost been two years since I stepped out into the WWW on my crafty bloggy journey. And what a journey it has been. I have made so many gorgeous friends around the world, I am so lucky.

I thought it was time to give a little something back to those who have been there along the way, sharing in my chats and all the wonderful highs I've had.  So I am having a blogaversary candy.....

Fly me to the Moon - Kathrin's sketch

I'm late! I'm late!  Sorry everyone. I hope you are having a better weekend than we are, lol. After a week of stomach bugs, colds and doctors visists, we took our 2 year old to the doctors again yesterday as he was still being sick and then through the night our three year old woke up with croup and conjunctivitis! So off to the doctors again today.  After spending a small fortune at the pharmacy and we're home, all dosed up.  That had better be the end of the illness at our house for a while because DH and I are exhausted ourselves.

So I am late making and posting my card for Magnolia Down Under Challenges. Kathrin has designed a gorgeous sketch for us to play with this week and I'm afraid in my tired state I haven't done it justice. Sorry Kathrin! But it is a great sketch so I will use it again for another card down the track and give it the attention it deserves.

I finailly inked up some stamps from the new The Winner Takes It All collection. OMG - I have had these stamps sitting on my desk for at least a month now so it is about time. I am so pleased to have finally made a card with them as they are so cute all coloured up. The papers are all Websters Pages.

I stamped around the edge of the image with Versamark and the starts from the You are so Special collection then sprinkled on silver embossing powder and heat set. Tilda's helmet is coated with Glossy Accents.  The teal net trim is Websters and the rhinestone stars are Kaisercraft. The silver berries are Magnolia and the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts (Pale Peach Trellis Roses, 25mm Wild Roses, Silver filigree corners).

I hope you get a chance to come and play with Kathrin's sketch at MDUC this week. There is a great prize up for grabs for the winner from Shop Bron .

Thanks for visiting and sorry for the whinge :)

Fuzzy, Pink and Inky

Hi there everyone! Well.. the Kueter household seems to be on the mend. I start my new job on Monday - very exciting. I'm going back to my 'old' work. It has been five years since I left there and it is the first  time I've gone to work in three years since I had the boys. I can't wait! I will miss my little boys terribly though. At least it is only three days a week. The best of both worlds.

My card today is for both Pink Ink Sketch challenges and Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges. I was a little cheeky and combined both DT assisgnments as they were due to be posted within a couple of hours of each other.

Jeanette has designed a fantastic sketch for us to play with this week at Pink Ink Sketch Challenges. I couldn't wait to get started on it. At Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges we are looking for Shaped cards. I thought I'd make a label shaped card but use the sketch. The card shape is cut on my Cricut.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges is sponsored this month by Lili of the Valley stamps with a 10 pound voucher going to a lucky winner. To be eligable to win all you have to do is create a shaped card using your favourite animal stamps. I have used the adorable Puss in Boot stamp from Lili of the Valley. This cutie has been sitting in my collection just waiting for some ink.

Pink Ink Sketch Challenges is sponsored by Whiff of Joy and Wags and Whiskers this fortnight so there are some amazing prizes up for grabs there too. You really don't want to miss playing with Jeanette's amazing sketch. I just LOVED it.

I've coloured the image with my Copics. The gorgeous papers are Prima Botanicals.  The pretty carob lace is Websters.

All of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I just love the large peach rose! It is a 40mm Pale Peach Trellis Rose. The other flowers are: 25mm Deep Ivory Wild Rose, 20mm Deep red Open Rose, 10mm open roses in Autumn Gold.

I would also like to enter my card into some fabby challenges...
Lili of the Valley - Roses
Little Red Wagon - Put a Critter on it
One Stop Craft - Vintage

I hope to have another card to share with you on Sunday for MDUC but I am having a little trouble crafting while I've been sick. Sleep seems to have taken priority! The image is all coloured up so it should just be a matter of making the card... fingers crossed I get a chance to put it together in time as I have finally coloured up one ofthe new images from the Summer club.

I will also be posting a candy in a few days. I realised the other day that it is almost my 2 year blogaversary! Gosh how the time flies. I have been so fortunate over these last two years I would love to give something back. So stay tuned....

And have a great weekend everyone!

Part 2 - altered canvas

Hello there crafty friends!  I hope you are all well :)

It is time for another fun challenge at Cute Card Thursday and this week we are challenging you to use NO patterned paper! OMG. A little panic here at my craft desk for a second until I realised that I could make part 2 of my little alterend canvas set.

So once again, I've covered my canvas in Gesso and cheesecloth and then sprayed it in glimmer mist and set about decorating it. The adorable Brother and Sister Tilda and Edwin stamp came out along with the Eiffel Tower (one of my favourites).  I used these stamps as they reminded me of my Hubby and I when we were in Paris.

The tag and photo anchors are from The Kraft Outlet. All of flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (Small flat Gardenias, Cherry Blossom,  20mm Open Roses, 10mm open roses, 5mm closed rose buds, pearl sprays, paper doily, and insertion lace ).  The scrabble tiles are from ebay :)

I hope you get a chance to join us at Cute Card Thursday this week.

Whiff of Joy Challenges and a few of my favourite things...

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday to you all. I have loads to chat about today so I'll get right to it and show you my card first off...

There is a new challenge over at Whiff of Joy challenge today. This week we are looking for Buttons and Bows. I have used the stunning Shopping Willow for my card. She doesnt get enough ink this lovely lady.

I used the great sketch from Sketch Saturday and some gorgeous papers by Melissa Frances 5th Avenue collection. The embellishments are all from Wild Orchid Crafts (Large Flat Gardenias, 25mm Wild Roses, 10mm Open Roses, Seam binding, Venise Lace Butterfly and button twine, gosh, that is quite the list!).

All of the edges are inked with DI.

This is my last week playing with the girls at Whiff of Joy challenges. I have decided to step down from the team. I am just a little bit over committed right now and I am headed back to work next week as well which means less time to play. I am so grateful to Jane for having me on her team and I will miss my teamies.

So... onto the chatty part of my post, lol.

My buddy Kellie has a fun little thing going on right now..  for a little while now she has been doing a "My favourite things" post each month, so for some fun she has decided to add a linky so we can all play along. Of course when I heard about this I had to be a part of it... so here are My Favourite Things for August....

1. MFT Die-namics - and in particular, the mini rolled roses die. I {{heart}}these dies and use them all the time. So easy to use, all of the dies are fun and just a bit different.

2. Gesso - I have discovered Gesso. I use it on everything. I started off using Tim Holtz' Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence, but being around $10 for a tiny pot of the magic potion here in Oz, it was becoming a teeny bit expensive. So I have forgone the crackle and settled for simple Gesso instead. The brand doesnt really matter, but I tend to buy a 500ml jar for about $12. Not too shabby! In case you are wondering what Gesso is....  here is a bit about it from Wikipedia.

3. Cheese cloth - a loosly woven cotton fabric.... my new favourite embellishment for a shabby look. It is fantastic when you think your card is just missing something and to adhere it, I just use a dab of Gesso, lol. It does tend to look a bit like I am setting a broken arm hahaha, but it works wonders!  It is widely available at fabric stores and fairly inexpensive as well.

4. My Copic 72 marker carry case - I bought this from Lime Tart earlier in the year and OMG - it is fantastic. If you ever need to take your markers anywhere (and I have done, several times now) this case is large enough to hold your favourite colours. The smaller ones just don't hold enough. The 72 case is definately a must for copic lovers :) If you are in Australia, head over to Lime Tart and see if they have any in stock... if not, just email Phillipa and she will help you out.

5. Cricut Expression personal cutting machine - I just love this little baby! It cuts out shaped cards with ease and it has been getting a bit of a work out recently. It is really worth the investiment.

So there are a few of my favourite things this month!

It would be great if you had a change to play along. Kel has a linky set up over HERE, I can't wait to have a bit of a sticky at your favourite things, hehehe, I  might find new toys I want!!

Have a great day!

Wild Orchid Crafts - Beary Special

How is everyone going this week? Things here are travelling well. Although after a few days at child care last week for 'orientation' my youngest and I now have our first colds of the year. Oh well :) We can't live in a germ free bubble can we! lol.

There is a new challenge over at Wild Orchid Crafts Challenges!  The challenge this fortnight is "Beary Special".

Just for a little change I've made a rectangular card and used a Magnolia Doo Hickey die on the bottom edge wtih my Grand Callibur.

The sweet bear is "Nalle Bear", a very early Magnolia stamp. I've masked him with the balloons from the You are so Special collection from earlier this year. The gorgeous tag is from The Kraft Outlet.

The gorgeous flowers and embellishments are: Self adhesive pearls, Small flat Gardenias, 25mm Wild Rose, 20mm open roses, Paper doilies and gorgeous seam binding!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Thanks for visiting,
Hugs Kylie xx
