Gosh, aren't the weeks flying by? Can you believe it is only 4 months until Christmas? I am trying to get into the Christmas spirit early this year as I am currently trying to get some pieces done for the Christmas issue of Magnolia Ink. Hmm.... I was kind of hoping the newly released Christmas paper ranges would help with that! But I think I might have to put on some Christmas Carols to do the trick :)
My card today is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges where the challenge this week is Flutterby - Use a butterfly - or many butterflies on your work. I thought it was a brilliant excuse to get out my MS Butterfly edge punch and make an accordian card.
I've coloured four Magnolia stamps from the Butterfly Dreams collection for my card, including the adorable little Magnolia. The papers are just gorgeous, they are Pion Design all the way from Sweden.
Aren't the papers perfect for this challenge? I am just in love with them. The amazing flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts. All of the images are coloured with Copics. The pennant banner is cut by hand and dotted with Liquid Pearls. All of the panels are stitched to the card.
The reverse side of the card has little pockets on each panel with different tags in them for messages to the recipient.
Some detail shots of the cute Tilda's and Magnolia. And the amazing colour of the WOC flowers. Check out that amazing Trellis Rose. I wish I could grow roses like this one! It reminds me a lot of the roses I had in my wedding bouquet. Just stunning! There are more punched butterflies and some silver butterfly charms as well.
I hope you get a chance to come and play at MDUC this week. The girls on the DT have put together loads of gorgeous inspiration to share with you.
I would like to enter my card into some challenges.....
Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers - Flutterbies
Cutie Sunday - Lace Puncher
Fab n Funky - A Stitch in Time
I will be back tomorrow with my creation for the next TOMIC challenge. I'm not going to let out any secrets, but it is a special week at TOMIC this week, not one to be missed ;)
I also want to mention that there is still 10 left to enter The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges as well. This month the theme is Shaped Cards and the sponsor is Lili of the Valley so definately one not to miss! All you have to do is ensure you create your shaped card with an animal theme and you are in with a chance.
Thanks for stopping by to visit me today and if you haven't already entered my candy, the link is in the sidebar :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Hugs K x

Kylie, I have just found your blog via Magnolia Down Under Challenges. After seeing this piece I just had to see closer! I have only two 'Maggies' and not enough confidence yet to enter a card challenge, in fact not enough to post on my blog yet. I spent 11 years in Canberra, leaving in 2001 because of the cold and my neck and back conditions. Your work is wonderful and your attitude inspiring to beginners like me.
ReplyDeleteWow, your card is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at cutie sunday.
hugs
Andrea
