Good morning! It is spring here in Australia at the moment so we have spent most of yesterday in the garden. Between my wonderful DH and I, we planted 11 birch trees, an apple tree and 25 plants and mowed the lawn. Such a big job keeping a garden but it is going to be worth it when everything starts to grow.
But enough about the garden! You are here to see my card for Magnolia Down Under Challenges, this week the challenge is "Halloween inspired". So you have the choice of making something Halloween themed, or if you are Aussie (we still dont really celebrate Halloween) and don't have Halloween stamps, or if you are just a little Halloween'd out, like I am, you can make something inspired by Halloween.
I have made so many Halloween projects this year and have no use for them really, so I just couldn't bring myself to make another one...lol, even though this week's theme was my idea! So instead I got out my Pirate Edwin. I figured that Edwin was in dress ups as the pirate so Halloween inspired. The card is actually a birthday card for a little boy turning four next week - I hope he likes it!
I've also coloured his shirt in burnt oranges to give it a bit more of a Halloweeny look. It was fun doing a scene card again. I haven't done many recently. I have coloured this background so many times since I bought it. I love it!
I have also applied a fair amount of stickles on the sand and water to give it a little sparkle. And a little black bead for a pearl with the shell. The treasure map paper is actually a picture I found on the internet and printed onto cardstock.
