Wow - welcome to my first card as a DT member for Magnolia Down Under Challenges!! I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful challenge and be able to inspire others as the fantastic DT has inspired me since I started participating.
Magnolia Down Under Challenges was the first challenge that I entered and was also the first card that I'd made using a Magnolia stamp. That was in September 2009 - if you really want a giggle, you can see that card by clicking HERE (please be kind, it was my first attempt!). I thought it would be apt to make my first card as a DT member using the same gorgeous little monkey that I used in that first terrible card.
The challenge this week is MASKING. To make my new and improved monkey card, I masked the Monkey stamp then stamped the vine and the tip leaves. The ground is hand done with Copic markers and the background is sponged. I've made a matching criss cross pocket for the card. It is always a little tough working out what embellishments to use on a boys card, but I went with some faux leather, antique brads, twine and a silver dragonfly. The vines hanging on the pocket are cut from card stock on my Cricut using the Zooballoo cartridge.

A little close up of my monkey coloured with Copics. I've added some Spica pen in "olive" on the leaf veins, but it just wouldn't show up in the photo - I took almost 100 to get the right pic!
