Magnolia Down Under Challenges # 34 and something new to play with!

Hi all,

Well - I have been twitching and twitching. I ordered something gorgeous to play with about a week and a half ago from the US and I've not really been in the mood to do much while I've been waiting for them to arrive... and guess what was in my mail box this morning!!! Yep - but I will tell you what it was in a minute...

Here is my easel card for this week's Magnolia Down Under Challenges (#34) Make an Easel Card. I have turned my easel card into a little desk calendar.

I have a new stamp of little Edwin from the 2008 Summer by the Sea collection. He is so cute. So I thought he needed a little beach scene to sit on. I finally used a piece of my Magnolia paper with the little clouds. It really hurt to cut it!! And some lemony dotty paper I've had for a while. The 'water' is made using some blue white core card stock through the cuttlebug and sanded to get the waves. The little rock is just some kraft scrap that I've scrunched and inked. And I made the little boat from half a circle and scalloped the edge and some little triangle sails! I was worried what I had in my mind wasn't going to come to fruition when I put it to the card - but it was easy peasy! And lots of fun.

Can you guess what Edwin was coloured with?

A little close up.... some glitter on his little wings :)

And a view of the calendar and some bucket and spade brads....

MY NEW COPICS!!! Yep - that is what I've been waiting for and oh wow - what a joy to colour with. It is going to take a bit of practice, but it will be worth it. Ahhhhhh.... Copics.

Other challenges for this card are...

Stamp with Fun - Stitching
Crafty Creations #55 - Stitching
Saturday Spotlight #19 - Mess around (Distressing, Tearing, Inking edges)
Papersundaes #6 - Distressing
