Happy Tuesday! It is time for Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenges! This month we are challenged to make a card following a sketch and a matching bookmark. I used the sketch as parts of my card and made a Joy Fold Card. You should pop over and have a look at the gorgeous creations the rest of the talented DT have come up with - wow!
I have chosen to use the lovely Ivy with her cute hat perched on her pretty little head. Oh I had some fun making this card. The papers are absolutely gorgeous and from the Prima Flights of Fancy Collection (I used Firefly) - and wow, let me tell you I had so much trouble making the first cut. I seem to just hoard beautiful papers and occassionally pull them out of the drawer to admire them and then put them back because they are too pretty to cut up :) But I felt that it had to be done for Ivy, she deserves lovely papers :)
Ivy is coloured in Copic markers - all in warm greys. Kellie has a DT challenge set for us this week as well which is to make a card with black and white images but use coloured papers and embellies. Doesn't it give a lovely vintage feel? It is the first time I've "coloured" a black and white image and I loved it - it really helps if you struggle to find your light source, it is a great lesson in shading.
So here is a close up of Ivy. She is surrounded by gold embossed swirls. And there are gold embossed butterflies behind her which are a little difficult to see in this photo
But are a bit more clear here. I thought they added to the gorgeous paper. I've use the same stamp to make the coloured butterflies for the embellies. And the flowers at the bottom of the piece hold the book bark in place nicely
And here it is open. I found the perfect sentiment (for the sentimentally challenged me) at Rain Drop Echo Designs and printed it on the inside flap.
So, please take part in Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenge #2! and if you like, and want to make a black and white image card, you can enter that on the Tickled Pink Stamps blog on Saturday.
