Whiff of Joy February Release! "Ben in the rain" and new paper pad!

Ohh - there are some new cuties at Whiff of Joy in February! This little guy is Ben in the Rain and he will be available for purchase tomorrow.

I've also used the new 6x6 paper pad being released for February as well - how sweet are these papers? The paper pad has 36 sheets, 4 each of 9 designs and some die cut shapes as well. They are the perfect papers for the new release stamps.

I've used the December released "Nostalgia" border die on my card as well and "General Sayings" sentiment set.

The sketch is Friday Sketchers.

Secretive Tilda

Wow, what a busy day! It is nice to sit down at my desk with a cup of my favourite tea and post this little project that I've had on my desk for a couple of days.

This is Secretive Tilda - in 'normal' size and also mini.  I've made something a little bit different than my standard 6 x 6 square card. I've made an envelope and matching insert.

This pic is of the little mini Tilda. She is coloured in Copics and cut out with a small Nestie Oval.

And here is the entire envelpoe and the card to go inside. I saw one of these on a blog in my travels and went WOW - I have to try that! But unfortnuately I can't find the blog I orignially saw it on, so if it was you (or if you know who's blog it was!) please let me know so I can link back to you! The envelope measures roughly 8 x 4 inches. I've used a Doo Hickey die "Tilda's Lace" for the edge of the envelope and "Old Swedish Lace" for the card.

And here is a close up of the 'normal' size Tilda. She is one of my favourites :)

Some challenges for this lovely are:

Lime Tart DT - Sitting Summer Willow (Whiff of Joy)

Its my day over at the Lime Tart Zest Blog today. I thought I would make a circle shaped card. The image is a stunning Whiff of Joy image "Sitting Summer Willow", coloured with Copics. I wanted Willow to have something to sit on as she appeared to be floating in mid air, so I used my Copics to create a grassy mound. It is an easy way to create a little scene if you don't have accessory stamps.

The papers are Basic Grey "Curio" (love these papers). The sentiment is also Whiff of Joy, "General Sayings" which is a terrific set of 6 different sentiments - fantastic value and they are great for almost every occassion.

Here is a close up of the colouring:

Copic colours used are:

Skin: E 000, 00, 11, 13
Hair: mE 30, 31, 25, 27, 29

Mini Tilda on a Pizza Box

Hi there! Hope you are all well today :)  I have another Magnolia mini to show you, lol. This is Blueberry Tilda and she's on a mini pizza box. My friend Kellie has been making these cute boxes recently and I felt I needed a bit of a change from cards so the mini pizza box was the perfect size for this little cutie.

The sketch is from Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar challenges. I received these beautiful Magnolia papers from my gorgeous friend Tanja for Christmas - perfect for mini Tilda with Blueberries.

I've used Magnolias Doo Hickey dies "Lovely Fence", "Berry Lace" and "Leaves" and Nestabilities Classic Circles and Lacey Circles. All layers are distressed and stitched.  I am also entering her over at Stamp with Fun for their Blue and Brown challenge.

And finally, a side view. I died the seam binding with my copics and some hand sanitiser. It is really fast and such a great way to get the colour perfectly matched to your image.

Other challenges are:

24 January 2011

"There was a little girl ...

who had a little curl".... Yup, that is what this little reminds me of. She looks so sweet!  This is Tilda with Ribbon Hair from the just released You are So Special collection.

Tilda is sitting on the new "Vintage Couch", also from the You are So Special collection which is stamped on vanilla cardstock with "Old Paper" distress ink and cut using a Nestie, Label 17. I've used those gorgeous Girls Paperie papers again (from Lime Tart) and some Doo Hickey dies (Old Swedish Lace, Tilda's Lace)

There is some of that lovely Tim Holtz film strip ribbon in there and some pearls as well.  Tilda's hair was something new for me! I've not coloured such tight curls before.

All of the layers are stitched of course, and because I didnt trust myself to stitch around the couch panel, I just used my paper piercer.

I just love this new collection from Magnolia. There were so many new stamps out this time - I think I've ended up ordering most of them!

Ok, some challenge for sweet little Tilda are:

Magnolia Down Under Challenges # 80

Ohhhh - It is Magnolia Down Under Challenges time again! This week the challenge is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Got ya thinking? I know I was a little stumped when I first saw the challenge... but, it was fun!

I used a box that my Copic refils come in and I altered it. I opened it up, cut off the flaps and flattened it down and went to work.

The beauty of altering something relatively small is you can use scraps of paper from other projects to decorate it.  The buttons are from my Mum, the green ribbon on the tag is recycled from a parcel.

This cute little Tilda is Tilda with small gift and is from the new You are So Special collection. I made the tag by cutting a piece of card and using a Nestie Label 4 on the top to cut the shape.

I hope you have some time to pop over to Magnolia Down Under Challenges to play along this week.

I would like to enter my tag and pocket into these challenges:
7 Kids College Fund - Challenge yourself (I challenged myself to alter recycled box)
Simon Says Challenge - Bingo (Buttons, Flowers, Glitter)

Sweet Pea Lady Bug and step by step for Lime Tart

Good morning! I've got my first ever Sweet Pea card to share with you. It is “ching-chou kuik Ladybug“, and wow, what a fun image to colour!

Over on Lime Tart's Zest Blog I've put together a little step by step  to show you how I used the Paper Tole technique to make the gorgeous Ladybug pop out of the card. I've used a transparency sheet for one of the layers of the wings. The base image is coated in Distress Crackle Paint "Rock Candy" to give it a cracked glass effect as well. But you're going to have to click over to the Zest Blog to find out more ;)

And here is the finished card. The papers are Basic Grey Curio - aren't they gorgeous?  All of the supplies for this card are from Lime Tart's A La Tart kit for January. See that fabulous Prima Canvas? Yup, I've used it again!  I've distressed all of the edges with Walnut stain distress ink, and used my Tim Holtz edge distressing tool as well.

Some challenges for this card are:

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges - week 3

Hi! It is already week three over at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges, how quickly is this year flying?!

This week there is a fantastic sketch by the gorgeous Emma to play with. I had to ink up my favourite, Lilith to play with. She was the only stamp out of this month's release that hadn't seen the ink yet. Just terrible! So here she is on my new favourite papers ... The Girls Paperie "Paper Girl". I just LOVE them. The sentiment is also from this month's Tickled Pink Stamps releases.

The sparkly little ribbon slider was a Christmas pressie from a great friend - thanks!!

All of the hearts on Lilith have been given a good dose of Crystal Effects for some shine. The pink organza ribbon was off a Christmas pressie! It was just too pretty to throw out.

Magnolia Mini - Tilda with Many Hearts

Good morning! I have something a little different here to share with you today... it is a card using only a mini Magnolia stamp. She is Tilda with Many Hearts and she was a part of the Winter club stamps issued before Christmas. She fits perfectly on the Magnolia Doo Hickey tag die.

My cards are usually 6x6 inches so I mad this one a bit smaller, 4x6 inches so my mini Tilda wasn't lost on the card. I've ordered the full size version of this stamp from Tickled Pink Stamps this week so I have a cute little matching pair.
The sketch is from The Shabby Tea Room and I've used my favorite Wesbters Pages minis again.

Isn't she adorable? The lacy heart was cut on my Cricut. The rolled flower I made following the great tutorial HERE by my lovely friend Karen

Tilda is coloured with Copics and all of the paper edges have been sponged with Distress Ink Antique Linen.

Dreaming of Paris

I was just having a little bit of a play with a few different ideas with this card :)

I've been itching to ink up my Eifell Tower stamp for a while, its one of those stamps that have only seen ink once or twice before (very BAD!) and I recently bought little Heartbreaker Edwin and I thought they would work well together.  The papers are Sassafrass Lass "Indie Girl" and have been sitting on my desk waiting for attention since before Christmas (very, very BAD!).  The hot air balloons are one of my favourite accessory stamps that I ink up and fill in gaps when I find the opportunity.

The distressed look of my card is something I don't do very often but these gorgeous papers and lace were just crying out for it. The paper flower behind the rose is a Magnolia Doo Hickey die "Peony Petals". The Eifell Tower is actually stamped in "Antique Linen" distress ink, then stamped over in versamark and embossed with clear powder to make it glossy. The crochet doily was a pressie from a friend and the lace is Kaisercraft.

Everything is coloured in Copics and machine stitched for fun :)

Some challenges are.....
Friday Sketchers #136
Secret Crafter - Tons of Texture
Bunny Zoe - Love is in the Air

This post is also on my Magnolia only blog.... "Magnolia ... by Kylie..."

Whiff of Joy January release - Beep beep! I love you!

Hi everyone! Well, here I am with an adorable new stamp from Whiff of Joy. This is Beep Beep - I Love You. I just love him! I may have to encourage Katharina to have a whole Beep Beep collection...Beep Beep - Happy Birthday, Beep Beep - Thinking of You... you get the idea ;)  Sorry, this is a bit of a robot household, with two small sons, it's impossible to avoid it!

I tried to have a go at making a male Valentines card... I'm not so sure I succeeded though! I just love the image, but nothing I did would make the card look 'finished', you know? I have had this sitting up in the family area for a couple of days just looking at it trying to figure out what else to stick on, lol. I've come to the conclusion that it isn't the card, it is just ME being used to 'eagerly embellishing' :o) Thats my new term for it anyway.

So here he is: Beep Beep I Love You robot from Whiff of Joy -

I typed up the sentiment on my computer and popped it into the little silver frame.  The brackets are made using Nestabilities Labels 1. The papers are Basic Grey Oliver.

Some challenges for this card are:
Basic Grey Challenges - Spots and Dots
Bunny Zoes Crafts - Love is in the Air

They are so quick to colour and easy to find the light source.  The gorgeous canvas is by Prima - I love this stuff! I decided to make my own flower using the canvas as well. There is a great tutorial on the Zest blog for these too using paper, but the canvas works just as well.

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #78

**This is my 2nd post of the day. Please scoll down to see my Tickled Pink Stamps preview post**

Its time! Its time! Magnolia Down Under Challenges are back from our little holiday! We're all refreshed and ready to go with a wonderful year of challenge planned for you.

This week we have a great sketch to play with by our very own Karen.  I thought I would let little Tilda and Edwin have a small holiday of their own this week and I inked up the cute Wilma instead. I have had this little puppy for almost a year now and she's only seen ink once ... isn't that bad? She is just too cute to be ignored like that.

Karen's sketch was just PERFECT for these amazing Pink Paislee "Sweetness" papers that I've been hoarding. They are far too pretty to cover much of it up, I've used the Doo Hickey die Tilda's lace and the sentiment "a gift from the heart" as well. The ribbon is some seam binding I've coloured with pink and yellow ink to give it a bit of a tie dye affect, yup, I couldn't decide which colour I wanted to go with, hahaha.

You have a week to play along with us and with a sketch this fabby, why wouldn't you? I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Some challenges to play in are:
The Shabby Tea Room - Use 11 elements (I've got: patterned paper, ric rak, ribbon, lace, die cut  and punched borders, button, string, machine stitching, flowers, inked edges, brads!)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
Hugs xx

Lime Tart DT - Sitting Summer Willow (Whiff of Joy)

Good morning! Today is my first post for Lime Tart on the Zest Blog.

For my first DT project I have been very lucky to be able to use a Whiff of Joy stamp "Sitting Summer Willow". She is so beautiful! Willow has been coloured using Copic Sketch markers.

The papers are "Curio" by Basic Grey and are a part of this month's A la Tarte. The gorgeous text sheet is actually a canvas 12 x 12 sheet. All of the edges of the cardstock and papers have been sponged with Walnut Stain distress ink and then stitched together. I used a metal flower die and my Cuttlebug to cut the flowers from the canvas sheet as well and then inked the edges.

Willow is coloured using:

Skin: E 000, 00, 11, 13
Hair: E 50, 31, 33, YR 31
Clothes: E 0000, 41, 42, 43, R 000, 00, 11, 12, YG 63, 91

Some challenge for this card are:
The Shabby Tea Room - use 11 elements (cardstock, DP, canvas, ribbon, lace, brads, dies, punches, copics, stitching, sponging)
The Crazy Challenge - All things New (the stamp, the DT :), using canvas on cards, the butterfly punch)
