All you need is....

Happy New Year to you all!!  I hope you all have something fun planned for tonight.

For my last card of the year I thought I would show you this little tag card I made. My cousin is getting married soon and unfortunately we are unable to attend so I made this as our inability card.

I received these cute Magnolia papers for Christmas (thanks Tanja!!)  and I thought they would be perfect.

Here is a better pic of "L". The letters are chipboard which I've painted with distress crackle paint "Tattered Rose". All of the edges are sponged with Walmut Stain. This is Heartbreaker Edwin from the Right Through your Heart collection 2010.

For "O" I've used the Heart with wings.  It is a little difficult to see, but the heart has crackle paint in Rock Candy all over it and Stickles on the wings.

"V" is a tag with Kaisercraft letters to spell out "is all U need"

And "E" is Longing Tilda from the Once Upon a Fairytale collection 2010.

I've used some Doo Hickey dies in embellishing this as well - Tilda's Lace, Old Swedish Lace and Tag.

I also just want to remind you that Magnolia Down Under Challenge # 77 is "A gift for you" and is open for another week if you wish to pop over and enter!

Some challenges for this are:
Magnolialicious Highlites December challenge - Use letters or words
The Play Date Cafe #62 - the gorgeous PINK!
Stamp Something - Tags or Pockets
Paper Sundaes - Cut it out

Ok - have a wonderful New Year celebration what ever you are up to!

My top 10 cards of 2010

Hi everyone! I thought I'd play along in the top 10 cards blog hop that Mrs Weyremaster (aka Suzi) is organising. All you have to do is create your post with your top 10 for 2010 , link it up to the linky on Suzi's post by 7am on 29 December and then come back to hop along and see everyone's favourite cards! Sounded like fun to me!

Mrsweyremaster

So .... here they are... my top 10.....

1. This card won the Just Magnolia monthly challenge for August which was to use acetate on your card. I was so proud. It was the first ever challenge that I had won that wasn't by random!

2. Circus Tilda - how cute is she? This card was for a cute little friend of mine who was turing four.

3. I think I can Fly!! I just love the colours on this card. It was my last DT card for my first ever DT position with Creatalicious Challenges.

4. A fairly recent card, this is my first "official" card while a Magnolia DT. Its been a great year!

5. I just love the papers and that chocolate lace. Gotta love Websters Pages!

6. My first attempt at Shabby Chic. This card took a while to make and I was really unsure if it would work or not, it almost went in the bin a couple of times, but I am glad I kept with it.

7. My MIL's birthday card. I love the warm autumn colours, raffia and this adorable Tilda.

8. A fairly new card using stamps from the Winter Magnolia card kit. So girly and pink!

9. One of my favourite Whiff of Joy images. More pretty pink!

10. Yep, another Magnolia image, but not a card... it is the Wishing Well I made for my guest DT posi at Make it Crafty.

Well, I can't wait to see what your top 10 are! Hope you can join in!

My first ever Lili of the Vally card!

Hi! I hope you all had a wonderful day with your families for Christmas! Christmas Day itself was nice and quiet for us, and spent at home, but the last few days have just been crazy. But I am sure I am not the only one!

I was sent a gorgeous Lili of the Valley stamp for Christmas from a gorgeous blogging friend, so I couldn't wait to ink her up. And... this is my first ever Lili of the Valley stamp!

Isn't she cute?

I used this week's sketch from Friday Sketchers and thought that it was a great sketch to use on a gate fold card, so I had a bit of a play with that.  The stamp on the inside is a Magnolia stamp... I think it is called Shabby Roses. The fun papers are from a new paper pad...MME Fine and Dandy "Tickled Pink" - I just love them! Perfectly girly. And so bright! I don't usually use some many colours on one card, but I just LOVE these papers!

Some more challenges for this little cutie are:
Cupcake Crafts - Thank you
Die Cut Dreams - How Girlie can you get

As soon as the Lili of the Valley store opens on the 4th... I'm buying some more stamps!! hahaha

I would love to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Thank you all for your lovely comments over the past year, they mean so much to me. I just love getting up each morning and reading the comments from around the world with a coffee in hand, its the best way to start the day :o)

There are a two wonderful creations made by two of my DT "bosses" that I would like to share with you.

The first one is this terrific video that Katharina from Whiff of Joy has created. We were all thrilled to be a part of this and are just stunned at how wonderful it turned out.

The second Christmas creation (lol) is by gorgeous Kellie from Tickled Pink Stamps. She has been hard at work creating this Christmas message. So clever!

I've already emailed Tessa to collect her details and she has a fabulous box of goodies heading her way....Congratulations again Tessa!

Cuppa Tea Anyone?

**only one day left to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**
How are everyone's Christmas preparations going? We finally did our big grocery shop this morning. We thought we'd head out at 8am and beat the crowds... fingers crossed! And it worked. We were so relieved! We were home again by 9am and able to relax.

I've had this idea to make a tea cup with flowers for a little while now and finally last night I sat down and made it happen. It was inspired by a couple of ideas, firstly, those flower pot cards that were around for a little while and also I was at a garden centre and saw a ceramic pot in the shape of a tea cup with pansies planted in it, so cute!

The card base is simply an easel card and I used a tea cup template I found at Peets Scrapalbum. The flowers are cut with Doo Hickey dies and so is the edge border. I used the "Berry Lace" Doo Hickey but only showed the little dots on the edge.

The flowers and Tilda are attached to a die cut oval which is removable for a message to be written on the back.

I also used the Doo Hickey Swirl and Leaves on white cardstock The flowers are all edged with "Walnut Stain" distress ink.

The base of the easel has two pockets built into it. The back one houses a little gift of a tea satchel and the top one has two little tags cut with the Doo Hickey tag die.

Midsummer Tilda is from the Once Upon A Fairy Tale 2010 collection and is coloured with Copic sketch markers.

Products used in this card are:

Stamps: Midsummer Tilda - "Once Upon A Fairytale 2010", Tea Label and A Little Yummy for your Tummy sentiment - "A Little Yummy for Your Tummy 2009", Just Sitting Here Thinking of You sentiment "Lazy Summer Days 2009"
Doo Hickey dies: Berry Lace, Tag, Swirl and Leaf, Peony Flowers - all from Tickled Pink Stamps
Papers: Kaisercraft and Basic Grey
Embellishments: Whiff of Joy Pearl brads

Ok... are you ready for my news??

I was going to try and get a card finished to show as I make the announcment, but after a teeny bit of pressure from some friends, I've decided to spill my news now.. without the card, lol.

Ok - here it is.... Monday night I received an email that I have been wishing for... an email from Magnolia asking me to join their Design Team. Can you guess what my response was? hahaha - YES of course!

Lime Tart is an Australian based Scrapbooking kit store and Phillipa has some gorgeous Scrapbooking kits with fabulous names like "A La Tart" and "Greedy Tart" - how fun is that? But Lime Tart also stocks stamps and Nestabilities and all the other goodies cardmakers need, including COPICS - woo hoo! I will be playing on the cardmaking side of things.

Tipsy Tilda

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY only 4 days to go ---- Click HERE**

Well.... that's what I'm calling her for the moment anyway, til we find out what she is really called :o) She looks kinda tipsy to me... perfect for New Years, don't you think? It feels a bit strange talking about New Years when Christmas is still 4 days away :)

The great sketch is by Mina and is this week's Just Magnolia challenge.  Its a bit hard to see in the pic but Tilda's crown is sparkly, I coloured it with Spica at You pen in gold and clear.

The papers are from the Basic Grey 6 inch pad "Nook and Pantry" and I managed to find a piece of peach coloured lace in my stash too, what are the odds? And very unlike me... there are a couple of buttons on this card - very unlike me.

Challenge for Tipsy Tilda are:
Just Magnolia #86 - sketch by Mina
All Sorts Challenge #86 - Free and Easy, Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes #49 - Cut it Out
Totally Papercrafts #47 Time to Party

A little gift for you

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**

Gosh - it is almost Christmas - less than a week to go! Do you have all of your shopping done? My husband and I went out this week while my Mum looked after the kids and we got everything done is two hours - by were we surprised.  All that is left is the food shopping.. but I haven't started thinking about what we will be eating yet. It is the first year ever that we will be spending the day at our own home - OMGoodness - it feels wonderful. The boys will be able to open their pressies from Santa and enjoy them without being rushed around. And I will be able to make Christmas dinner - a first for me! Really!

Anyway, on to my card :) It is the last challenge of the year at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and the theme this week is "A Gift for You". The challenge will run for three weeks instead of one, so the Design Team can have a little break. We will be back with some more fun challenges for you in the New Year, so keep your eyes open for January 9th.

I've used this cute little Tilda from the Winter Kit I received in the mail this week. I *think* the collection is called "You are So Special Collection 2011". I just love the cute stamps that have been release in this stamp club and I can't wait for the pre-orders to see what else is coming out.

I wanted to do something a little bit different so I used my Cricut and cut out a elongated label shape and scored it in half to create this cute little shape. I wanted Tilda to look like she was leaning out of the circle. All the edges are distressed and I made this cute little box to go with the card. My husband said it looks like a boat... well.. It wasn't supposed to!

Tilda was such a joy to colour. Really quick!

And because the card was a bit fancy in shape, I left the layout fairly simple on the outside, but thought it would be fun to jazz up the inside a bit :)

So you can see I've finally discovered my stapler! It is just fantastic for securing those bits of lace in place when you are making a card a bit on the distressed side.

And finally the back of the card.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge #5 - create anything Magnolia
Cute Card Thursday - One for the Kids
Everybody Art - A Self made Present
Fun with Shapes - Get Scalloped
Paper Sundaes - Anything but Square or Rectangle
Stamp Something - Something with a Tag or Pocket

Whiff of Joy Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the Whiff of Joy Christmas Blog hop!!

You should have arrived here from the gorgeous and talented Murielle, if you didn't you might want to hop on over to Katharina's blog so you don't miss any of the amazing creations that the Whiff of Joy Design Team, past and present, have created for you!

I have made a lantern to share with you using the gorgeous Praying Angel by Elizabeth Bell which was one of the November release stamps.

The initial idea for the Blog Hop was for each of us to send a little something to another DT member they they could use on their cards. Murielle posted to me the gorgeous handmade tag you can see hanging on the latnern. I was also lucky to receive some stunning metal corners and red berries from Jacque while she was briefly with the team.

I posted to Michaela some paper lace doilies to use so I've used one here as a base for my lantern and I posted to Michele a pearl pin and some holly leaves that I have also used here in the photo above.

Isn't this angel stunning? I am not really a religious person, but I seem to keep inking up these lovely angels to colour. They look so peaceful.

Here you can see the swirls I've cut using the Romantic Swirls die.

And lastly, a view of the top of the lantern. I followed a fabulous tutorial by Norma to make my lantern, it was actually pretty simple to make, the insutructions were terrific! Thanks so much Norma :)

The next stop on the hop is the very sweet Michaela and I know she will have something amazing to show you.

There is also a wonderful prize for a lucky hopper of a €30 voucher at Whiff of Joy! All you have to do is hop along and end  you will find the prize! Just leave a comment there for your chance to win!

Did you know that there is also a 20% discount Christmas voucher at Whiff of Joy at the moment? Just use the code on the voucher below to save on the wonderful stamps, dies and embellishments at Whiff of Joy! How generous is Katharina? Thank you so much!

Happy Birthday, Love from Tilda

**Don't forget to enter my CANDY ---- Click HERE**

Good morning everyone! I was very lucky and received my Magnolia Winter Club package on Wednesday... wooohooo!!! I couldn't wait to get started and grabbed the EZ mount and got cracking!

I am not sure what this little sweetie is called, but she is just gorgeous! I coloured the image up before choosing papers or thinking about a layout, lol, not something that I normally do...but I was lucky and found some scraps of this beautiful Prima "Flights of Fancy" paper, I just love it!

I used my Magnolia Doo Hickey border die "Tilda's lace" for the edge of the card and coloured the image with Copics.

I coloured the balloon a second time and popped it up on mounting tape. It is covered in Spica At You pen in Clear... although it doesnt show in the photo. The little stars on the border are also a stamp from the Winter club kit and I've stamped them in "Antique Linen" distress ink.

The challenges I had in mind for this sweetie are:

Whiff of Joy Challenge #94

Hi!! This post is packed full of info and is pretty long... so please bear with me!

I have some exciting news to share with you to start with! I made it onto the Design Team for Whiff of Joy Challenges! I am so pleased to be joining in with such gorgeous and talented girls :o) Thank you so much for choosing me ladies!   Today is my first time joining in with the challenges and it is also our last one for this year. And it is a really great sketch to play with by Kim.

I decided to have a go at something that I've not done in a looooong time - distressing! Oh, and guess what? hehehe, its not a Christmas card either - its a birthday card for a lovely bloggy friend of mine.  This friend is quite fond of pink and green and also the shabby/vintage distresssed style (Have you guessed who you are yet?? lol), so I wanted to try and keep with that style. The image is Willow Writing Recipes. I love this stamp :) Willow looks like she is deep in thought, which is sooo perfect for this friend as she is very insightful.

Oh, yesss... I'd better show you the card, I seem to be in a bit of a chatty mood today, lol.

The sentiment is General Sayings and I've stamped it on some scrap DP to match the card and put it in a cute little silver frame which I've painted in Distress Crackle Paint "Tattered Rose". The lovely rosey papers are new from Kaisercraft "English Rose" collection. I've also used the last of my beautiful 2.5" cotton bobbin lace. Note to self... find MORE!!! I love that lace. And I've stapled it on with some pink jumbo ric rak as well. Ok, you have until the 4th to enter this great challenge :)

Did you know that you can get 20% off your order at Whiff of Joy at the moment? Just use the code on the coupon below and click on the coupon to be taken directly to the Whiff of Joy Store!
